Our upcoming annual juried show
SHOW DATES: August 6 – 30, 2026
The 16th Annual New England Collective Juried Exhibition is hosted by Galatea
Fine Art, a contemporary artist-run gallery in the heart of Boston’s SoWa District.
Our 49 members include painters, sculptors, photographers and mixed media
artists with both emerging and established careers.
JUROR: Jessica Roscio
Museum Director and Curator of the Danforth Museum, Framingham, MA
Jessica Roscio joined the Danforth Art Museum in 2011, was appointed Curator in 2015, and
became the Director in 2020. She has overseen all curatorial and administrative operations
since the Museum became a part of Framingham State University. Prior to the Danforth,
Roscio held positions at the National Museum of Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C., and
the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. She writes on both historical and contemporary
photography and is a regular contributor to Aspect Initiative, an online gallery focusing on
innovative photographic practices in New England. She has juried numerous exhibitions
across media both regionally and nationally. Roscio has an MA in Art History from the
University at Buffalo and a Ph.D. in American Studies, with a focus on the History of
Photography, from Boston University.
VENUE: Galatea Fine Art
Galatea is in SoWa, the heart of Boston’s arts district. The gallery is a beautiful, light-filled
space, perfect for showcasing a multitude of art mediums. It has been in operation for more
than 15 years. SoWa’s monthly First Friday opening night receptions at the area galleries
draw large crowds. The gallery members provide an open and welcoming atmosphere, with
artist talks and demos provided almost every month. Accepted artists are encouraged to
attend the opening reception. ______________________________________

Eligibility:
Artists located in New England are welcome to apply. Selected local artists will be provided with
drop-off times and date details upon acceptance. Non-local selected artists’ work must be received
at Galatea Fine Art by July 25. Non-local artists are responsible for shipping costs both to and from
the Galatea unless other arrangements are made. Galatea accepts work in most mediums but not
video. We have a very limited number of pedestals for display, so sculptors who enter should plan
to provide their own pedestals.
Artists are responsible for insuring their work while in transit. If shipping art, each artist must
provide a pre-paid, UPS or FedEx return shipping label including insurance. Please pack your work in
sturdy, reusable packaging. DO NOT USE PACKING PEANUTS. Galatea Fine Art carries appropriate
insurance to cover all artwork in the show for the duration of the exhibition, including the time
frame of drop-off, installation, de-installation and pick-up.
