Next up on our summer vacation tour - gigs! Voices Rising had two community performances this summer - All Care Hospice’s Service of Remembrance and Pride Day at the Museum of Science. We feel so fortunate to have been invited to perform in both of these spaces. Building community through song is our mission and we love when we get additional opportunities to do this.

It may be September but we’re not quite ready to let go of summer just yet. Instead we’re taking a trip down memory lane and thinking about all the amazing things we did this summer!

First up was tabling and marching at Boston D**e March and Boston Pride for the People. One big q***r weekend filled with rainbows and glitter. We’ve already got the dates for 2027 saved in our calendar!

It may be summer vacation but the Voices Rising leadership team has been hard at work! This weekend was our annual leadership team retreat. We got to spend two full day working on our strategic vision for the next year. Hard work, bonding and snacks made this weekend a success!

A huge thank you to Nichols College for being such great hosts and providing us with everything we needed so that we could focus on our work!

We wrapped up our weekend feeling energized and excited about what’s ahead for Voices Rising this next year. The LT is going to squeeze in a beach day or two but can’t wait to be singing again with everyone in September!

Have you ever been in the audience during a Voices Rising concert and thought “Wow! I would love to sing with Voices Rising!” If the answer is yes, then now is the time. We’re holding auditions for new members to join us this fall!

Members of Voices Rising have described the audition process as simple and fun. You’ll do some vocal exercises with our Artistic Director and a small group of Voices Rising singers. You do not need to read music or prepare a song for your audition - we’ll guide you through every step of the singing process. You’ll also have a chance to speak with current members to ask questions and learn more about what being a member of Voices Rising is like.

Voices Rising is on the move! We’re heading to Chicago for the 2026 Sister Singers Network Festival. The next five days are going to full of singing and connecting with our sister choruses from around the country.

We’ll be performing our set on Friday 7/10 at 5pm EST/ 4pm CST. Members of Voices Rising will also be performing as part of the Wind Chorus on Saturday night at 8:45pm EST/ 7:45pm CST. The Wind Chorus is made up of over 200 singers from 11 choruses attending the festival and our very own Leora Zimmer will be conducting one of the pieces!

If you want to join in the fun, all of the festival performances will be live streamed! You can find the link to purchase tickets in our bio. The performances will not be available to watch once they’re over, so please make sure you’re able to watch live. Hope you can join us!

We were so honored to be invited to perform at All Care Hospice's annual Service of Remembrance last week. The service was a beautiful celebration of life and we're so glad we could be part of this experience.
