A Ritual to Quiet Gossip, Rumors & Words Spoken Against You
This spell is for when your name is being carried into rooms you never entered. Rather than controlling another person's speech, the working symbolically removes your name from the conversation and denies gossip a place to root.

You will need:

A length of black cord or ribbon
A small piece of paper
A black or dark-purple candle
A bowl of salt
A bay leaf
A pen
Your voice

Steps

1. Light the candle.
Place the bowl of salt before it.
Lay the cord across the table between you and the candle.
Say:

“Words may travel, but they do not rule me.”

2. Write what you are silencing.
Don't write another person's name.
Instead write:
GOSSIP • RUMOR • FALSEHOOD • MALICE
Fold the paper away from yourself three times.
Place it beneath the bowl of salt.

3. Take the cord.
Hold one end in each hand.
Think of the unwanted words becoming weaker every time they're repeated—until there is nothing left for them to feed upon.
Say:

“My name is mine.
My story is mine.
Neither belongs upon another's tongue.”

4. Tie the first knot.

“False words lose their road.”

Pull it tight.

5. Tie the second knot.

“Cruel tongues lose my name.”

Pull it tight.

6. Tie the third knot.

“What carries harm travels no farther.”

Pull it tight.

Now place the knotted cord around the bowl of salt like a boundary.

7. Take the bay leaf.
Hold it between your palms.
Speak the full chant:

“Tongues that twist and mouths that lie,
let every poisoned whisper die.
My name is guarded, mine to keep;
your words find neither root nor seed.
Rumor withers, falsehood ends—
what isn't truth returns to wind.”

Place the bay leaf on top of the salt.

8. Close the working.
Extinguish the candle.
Leave the bowl undisturbed overnight.
The following day, discard the salt and paper. Keep the knotted cord somewhere private until the situation has passed. Then untie the three knots and dispose of or reuse the cord.

🌙 THE DREAM-DOOR RITUAL

A Spell for Dream Messages & Nighttime Insight
This one is for opening the symbolic doorway of dreams—when you want your sleeping mind and spiritual practice to become a place for insight, signs, remembrance, or messages.

Rather than asking for a specific answer, you're opening the door and saying: show me what I am ready to see.

You will need:

A glass or bowl of water
A purple or blue candle
A small key
A piece of paper
A pen
Lavender or rosemary
A small mirror
Your voice

Steps

1. Prepare the dream door.
Before bed, place the mirror flat with its reflective side facing upward.
Set the bowl of water on top of it.
Place the key beside the bowl.
Light your candle and say:

“Between waking and dreaming,
I stand before the door.”

2. Give the water your question.
Write one question on your paper.
Keep it simple.
What am I overlooking?
What should I understand?
What is ready to reveal itself?
Fold the paper toward yourself once and place it beneath the mirror.

3. Add the herb.
Place a little lavender or rosemary beside the bowl rather than in drinking water.
Pass your hand slowly above the water three times and say:

“Water hold what night may show,
moon above and dream below.”

4. Take the key.
Hold the key between both palms.
Close your eyes.

Imagine a doorway standing somewhere in darkness. You don't have to decide what lies behind it.

Say:

“I knock without demanding.
I ask without commanding.
Let only what serves me cross.”

5. Look into the mirror.
For only a moment, look at your reflection in the dim candlelight.
Then cover the mirror with your hand.
Speak:

“What is hidden may become known.
What is mine may find me home.”

6. Speak the dream chant.

“Dreaming waters, moonlit door,
show what I am ready for.
Through the darkness, symbols gleam—
speak in whisper, sign, and dream.

7. Close before sleeping.
Extinguish the candle.
Place the key on top of your folded paper.

Move the mirror somewhere it won't be knocked over, and DONT leave a burning candle beside your bed while you sleep.

Keep your phone, notebook, or paper nearby.

When you wake—even in the middle of the night—write down whatever remains before interpreting it.
A color. A person. An animal. A sentence. A place.
Even fragments count.

🔥 THE NAME-BACK SPELL

A Ritual for Reclaiming Your Power

This is for the times you've made yourself smaller to survive someone else's presence—when criticism, control, betrayal, rejection, or years of being told who you were left you feeling disconnected from yourself.

This spell has one purpose:

Call yourself home.

You will need:

A red or purple candle
A small mirror
A bowl of water
A pinch of salt
A piece of paper
A pen
Your voice

Steps

1. Place the mirror before you.
Set the candle beside it and the bowl of water between yourself and the mirror.
Light the candle.
Look into your own reflection and say:

“I recognize the one who remained.”

2. Salt the water.
Drop a pinch of salt into the bowl.
Slowly stir clockwise three times.
Say:

“What was spoken over me dissolves.
What was placed upon me releases.”

3. Write your name.
Write your name in the center of the paper.
Around it, write anything about yourself you want to reclaim:
My voice.
My courage.
My joy.
My body.
My boundaries.
My magic.
My future.
Use whatever words belong to you.
4. Place your hand over your name.
Say:

“I do not belong to those who wounded me.
I do not belong to what happened to me.
I belong to myself.”

5. Touch the water.
Wet your fingertips and gently touch your forehead, heart, then both palms.
At each place say:

“Mine.”

Forehead: my mind.
Heart: my spirit.
Palms: my power.

6. Face your reflection.
Look yourself directly in the eyes.

Speak the final chant:

“I call my scattered pieces home,
from every place my spirit roamed.

7. Close the working.
Fold the paper toward yourself three times.
Place it beneath the mirror overnight.

Extinguish the candle and pour the water away.
Keep the folded paper somewhere private until you feel the working has run its course. Then you can burn it safely, bury it where appropriate, or simply keep it.

🌑 THE SHADOW-WASH CLEANSING RITUAL

A cleansing for those moments when you feel spiritually heavy—after conflict, being around draining people, a nightmare, a difficult day, or simply when your space feels stagnant.

This ritual isn't about fighting anything. It is about washing away what you refuse to carry.

You will need:

A bowl of warm water
A handful of salt
Rosemary
A black candle
A white cloth
A small stone
Your voice

Steps

1. Make the cleansing water.
Fill your bowl with warm water.
Add the salt and rosemary. Stir counterclockwise three times while saying:

“Water remember, salt make clean,
wash away what clings unseen.”

2. Light the black candle.
Place it behind the bowl.
Hold the stone in both hands and think about everything you are finished carrying: anger, tension, another person's words, fear, exhaustion, old emotional residue.
You don't need to name every piece.
Say:

“What weighs upon me may now leave.”

3. Give the weight somewhere to go.
Place the stone beside the bowl.
Dip the white cloth into the water and gently wipe your hands from wrist toward fingertips, imagining yourself brushing everything unwanted away from you.

Repeat three times.

Then say:

“From skin and shadow, heart and bone,
I release what is not my own.”

4. Cleanse your threshold.
Dip your fingertips into the water.
Touch a little to the inside of your doorway or symbolically flick a few drops toward it.
Say:

“Nothing heavy follows me here.”

5. Raise both hands.
Speak the main chant:

“What clung to me now falls away,
what dimmed my fire cannot stay.
Salt and water, herb and flame,
return me wholly to my name.
My spirit clear, my doorway sealed—
what was taken is restored and healed.”

6. Close the ritual.
Extinguish the candle.
Pour the cleansing water down the drain or outside somewhere appropriate. Rinse the stone and leave it outside overnight before bringing it back in—or simply return it to the earth.
Wash the cloth normally afterward.

🕯️ THE CROSSROADS RELEASE RITUAL

A ritual for when something has ended but its shadow keeps following you—an old relationship, friendship, grief, resentment, failure, habit, or version of yourself.

This isn't about erasing what happened. It's about telling the past: you may have shaped me, but you do not get to steer me.

You will need:

A black candle
A white candle
Two small pieces of paper
A piece of string or cord
A bowl of soil
A key
Your voice

Steps

1. Create your crossroads.
Place the black candle on your left and the white candle on your right. Put the bowl of soil between them.
Lay the key in front of the bowl.
Light the black candle first and say:

“I honor the road that carried me here.”
Then light the white candle:
“I choose the road that carries me forward.”

2. Name what remains behind.
On the first piece of paper, write what you are releasing.
It can be a person's name, an experience, a fear, an old identity—or simply:
WHAT NO LONGER BELONGS TO ME.
Place it beside the black candle.

3. Name what comes next.
On the second paper, write what you are choosing instead.
Peace. Freedom. Courage. Love. Independence. Healing. Power.
Place it beside the white candle.

4. Tie the past.
Wrap the string loosely around the first paper once.
Hold it between your hands and say:

“You were a chapter, not my name.
You were a road, not where I remain.”

Untie the string.
Don't cut it.
The act is not destruction.
You are choosing to release it.

5. Bury the old road.
Place the first paper beneath a little soil in the bowl.
Say:

“Earth receive what I release.
Take the weight and leave me peace.
What has ended, ended true.
I owe the past no life anew.”

6. Take the key.
Hold it over the white candle—not close enough to become hot.
Then hold it against your chest.
Speak:

“One road closes, one begins,
I leave behind what might have been.
No chain behind, no fear before,
I hold the key—I choose the door.
The past may speak, but cannot stay.
My feet are mine. I choose my way.”

7. Cross the threshold.
Pick up the second paper and physically take one step forward.
That step is the heart of the ritual.
Say:

“I have crossed.”

Extinguish the black candle first.

Pause.

Then extinguish the white candle.

Keep the key and your second piece of paper. Return the soil outside later; if the paper contains anything you don't want left outdoors, remove and dispose of it separately.

This one is about reflection rather than revenge. Whatever hostility, envy, gossip, ill intention, or unwanted energy is directed toward you is symbolically denied a home and sent back along its own path.

You will need:

A small mirror
A black or white candle
A bowl of water
A pinch of salt
A small key
Your voice

Steps

1. Prepare the mirror.
Place the mirror upright facing away from you. Set the candle between yourself and the mirror.
The symbolism is simple: what reaches your boundary goes no farther.

2. Make the water.
Place the salt into the bowl of water. Slowly stir it clockwise three times and say:
“Water cleanse and salt defend,
what is not mine shall find its end.”

3. Light the candle.
Look at the flame rather than directly into the mirror.
Hold the key in your dominant hand and say:
“I hold the key.
I guard the door.
What enters here, I choose—nothing more.”

4. Raise your open palm toward the mirror.
Speak:
“Mirror bright and mirror black,
turn what is sent and send it back.
Envy, hatred, tongue or stare,
find no resting place in here.”

5. Dip your fingertips into the salt water.
Touch a little water to each corner of the mirror while saying:
“No ill intention crosses through.
What belongs to me stays true.”

6. Hold the key against your chest.
Then speak the final incantation:
“What comes in malice, I refuse.
My road is mine, my fate I choose.
Mirror turn and candle burn—
what is not mine shall now return.
My door is locked, my spirit free.
What you send cannot bind me.”

7. Close the spell.
Extinguish the candle. Pour the water outside or down the drain. Keep the key somewhere near your doorway, altar, or other place you associate with protection.

Turn the mirror around only after the working is finished.

THE EVIL EYE BREAKING SPELL

You will need:

A glass of water

A white candle

A mirror

A bowl of salt or soil

Your voice

Steps

1. Light the candle. Place the mirror behind it to reflect the flame.

2. Hold your hand over the water and say:
“All eyes that seek to drain me lose their power.”

3. Sprinkle a pinch of salt into the water.

4. Raise your hand, palm open, and say:

“Return to sender, fade to dust,
no envy lives where I place trust.
No eye can harm, no thought can bind,
I walk protected, soul and mind.”

5. Blow out the candle and pour the water outside.

🌑🗝️ THE STORY OF HEKATE & PERSEPHONE 🗝️🌑

One of my favorite things about Hekate is her connection to Persephone, because their story is even more beautiful when you know what the ancient sources actually say.

According to the Homeric Hymn to Demeter, Persephone was gathering flowers when the earth opened and Hades carried her into the Underworld.

Persephone screamed.

And Hekate heard her. 🔥

Demeter wandered the earth searching desperately for her daughter. For nine days she searched, carrying torches and grieving, unable to discover what had happened.

Then, on the tenth morning, Hekate came to her carrying torches in her hands.

Hekate told Demeter that she had heard Persephone's cries, although she had not seen who had taken her. Together they went to Helios, the Sun god who sees from above, and he revealed what had happened.

Eventually, Persephone was allowed to return to her mother. But because she had eaten pomegranate seeds in the Underworld, she would not remain above forever. She would spend part of her time with Demeter and part in the Underworld.

And this is the part of the ancient story that I find especially beautiful:

When Persephone returned, Hekate welcomed and embraced her.

From that time forward, the hymn tells us that Hekate became Persephone's attendant and companion.

There is something incredibly powerful about that.

Persephone becomes a goddess who moves between worlds—the maiden of the living earth and the queen connected with the realm of the dead.

And beside her is Hekate.

The goddess of thresholds.
The torchbearer.
The goddess of crossroads.
The one associated with boundaries and passages between worlds.

Hekate heard Persephone when she cried from a place others could not reach.

She helped search for her.

She welcomed her home.

And then she stayed beside her. 🖤

Later Greek religious and magical traditions developed even deeper connections between Hekate and Persephone, particularly through their associations with the Underworld. Some modern traditions describe Hekate specifically as the one who guides Persephone back and forth between the worlds. That's beautiful symbolism, but I think it's important to separate later interpretation from what our surviving ancient text actually tells us.

And what the ancient story tells us is already powerful enough:

🔥 Hekate heard her.
🗝️ Hekate searched for her.
🌑 Hekate welcomed her back.
🖤 Hekate became her companion.

To me, their story carries a beautiful message about transformation.

Sometimes we descend into darkness as one version of ourselves and return as another.

And sometimes the greatest guide isn't the one who promises you'll never enter the darkness.

It's the one who carries a torch and knows how to walk beside you there.
