From the FretlessBass.com Collection: 1970’s Gibson Les Paul Fretless Bass. A rare fretless version of this model - unknown if it was offered from the factory. Could be an employee build or possibly modified. Serial number is from the early 70’s. Pickups and controls appear different than Triumph models. Badass bridge. Gorgeous.

From the FretlessBass.com Collection: 1970’s Fender Precision Epoxy Fretless Bass. Fingerboard professionally coated with epoxy similar to Jaco’s technique. The fingerboard tone under the round wound strings is incredible. Paint stripped down to the natural ash body. Neck plate, neck stamps, and pots dated to 1973-1975.

www.FretlessBass.com - Sting & The Police: Recently I had the opportunity to discuss the creation of one of rock ‘n roll’s most iconic fretless basses with Jol Dantzig – Sting’s red fretless Hamer 8-string Explorer bass. Dantzig and the team at Hamer Guitars custom designed this bass for Sting in 1980 with a maple neck, unlined fingerboard, and a cherry red Explorer style body. Featured in The Police video for “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da” and played live on a few occasions, this bass is an absolute work of art and truly is one-of-a-kind. RIP Jeff Beck. Mo Foster (who played fretless bass on this recording) sent me this audio a friend of his recorded in the audience at the Greek Theater in 1980. Great fretless and stunning guitar work. I was able to see Jeff Beck live just three months ago, October 6 2022, in Boston. I am forever grateful for the experience. There has never been a guitarist like Jeff Beck. Unique. Legend. https://www.fretlessbass.com/music-cause-weve-ended-as-lovers-mo-foster-jeff-beck-live/
