DOUBLE BOOKING!!!! ✨✨

So proud of Mae Schenk and on being cast in the Broadway-bound reading of Because of Winn-Dixie! This will be directed by John Rando, with music by Duncan Sheik and book/lyrics by Nell Benjamin.

Mae will be playing the title role of Opal, and Lucy will be playing Sweetie Pie. Beyond excited for these girls and this incredible opportunity!

Also so grateful to have had my associate teachers, , , and .scarpaci collaborate in helping support and prepare these girls.

And a special full-circle moment for , who originated the role of Opal in the original production of Winn-Dixie. ❤️

Loving the videos!! .grace, I’d say we’ve covered this in our lessons, wouldn’t you say? 😂
How amazing that these rising stars are getting advice and sharing the stage with Broadway royalty. and ⭐️

Quick take on this:

• Water
Liquids don’t touch your vocal folds. Temperature is personal. Go with what helps your voice feel best.

• Lip trills
Yes please. My favorite SOVT. Helps balance airflow and vocal fold coordination (watch for tongue tension, keep the jaw loose)

• “Tuck your buns”
Not wrong 😂
Engaging your lower support helps stabilize high notes. (Same idea as holding in your p*e lol)

• “Open your throat”
Correct! Think of a relaxed yawn space. Open and easy, not pushed.

• Loose jaw
Always. Tension here is one of the fastest ways to block sound.

• Shake it out
Okay, that one, we have to try 😆

Had the best time going to see my students in a preview of last week with my daughter Dani. There’s truly nothing like watching their hard work come to life on stage!

I was also so happy that our associate teacher .scarpaci , who also worked with these girls throughout the process, got to see the show too with her mom. ❤️

, you were incredible as Young Cee Cee. Your comedic timing, singing, and acting were all amazing, and you literally are young Cee Cee ⭐️
grace , you were such a beautiful and elegant Young Bertie. Your singing was so honest and effortless, your acting felt completely real, and your sweetness and professionalism came through in every moment.

Watching the two of you together was so special. Your chemistry was obvious and felt completely natural.
g1217 , meeting you  in person was so awesome. The second I saw you, that huge smile and that joyful, vivacious spirit just came right through. I’m so excited that you are in your first Broadway production!

I’m so proud of all three of these girls. What’s extra special is how close they’ve become. Such a meaningful experience to see them be part of a production like this, and to watch them share the stage with the one and only, incredible ✨

So happy to officially welcome Richie Cook to the team.

I carefully vet every teacher I bring onto this team. It matters to me that a teacher is not only knowledgeable but has the eyes to see what needs to be corrected and the ability to get through to the student. That is the gift.

After training with Richie and watching him work with our students, I saw his depth of knowledge right away and his ability to make an immediate connection to a client. I’m so excited to have him join our team.

He brings years of experience and his approach is clear, specific, and grounded in strong vocal technique, while helping our clients understand and connect to the material in a truthful, personal way.

He works across all ages and levels and his schedule is already filling with students booking consistent sessions.

Book Richie in the website link in bio.
