Tomorrow is show day, and we’re closing out our guest artist introductions with the incredible Brookline Breakers! 🔥

Brookline Breakers is the official Street Dance & Breakin’ crew of Brookline School of the Arts, under the direction of Alex “Backspace” Diaz. Led by Owner & Artistic Director Erin J. Washington, BSA is dedicated to developing artists through its pillars of Technique, Artistry, & Creativity.

These talented BBoys & BGirls train multiple times each week to elevate their skills, artistry, and passion for street dance — and we’re so excited to have them joining us on stage tomorrow!

We are so excited to welcome guest choreographers Matthew Shimizu & Samira Brito to the Mosaic Dance Inc show! ✨🇧🇷

Matthew and Samira are both active members of Boston’s Brazilian Dance community, sharing their passion through teaching and hosting practices throughout the area. They frequently travel to festivals around the world, connecting with dancers internationally and competing in Jack & Jill competitions — where dancers are paired with a random partner and improvise on the spot!

We can’t wait for audiences to experience their energy, talent, and love for dance on stage! 💃🕺

✨ Final Choreographer Spotlight: Katie Suyematsu—Artistic Director ✨

As our Artistic Director, Katie’s passion for choreography shines just as strongly as her love for performing. This season she’s bringing multiple visions to the stage including a full-length Jazz piece for Tribe the Dance Company, a Commercial small-group piece for our newest company members, and choreography for part of our Inc. Piece finale.

Her work blends high-energy movement, strong technique, and fun performance quality, and we can’t wait for audiences to experience everything she’s created.

We’re excited to continue highlighting the talented artists bringing this season’s performance to life!

Tina has been part of Linx since its inception in 2016 and has danced alongside many of the Linx ladies on the Boston dance scene even longer. She’s thrilled to be sharing the stage with this incredible group of women. No matter how busy life gets, Linx always finds a way to create together, support one another, and put on a great show—and that spirit truly shines through in her work.

✨ Meet our next choreographer: Tracy Martocchio ✨

After a year away from the stage due to injury, Tracy returns to Mosaic in a new and meaningful way—through choreography. While she had hoped to perform with Linx this season, we’re so grateful she’s still part of this year’s show.

This marks Tracy’s 8th year as a Mosaic member and her first time co-choreographing a small group, alongside one of her best friends and fellow Embrace member, Laura Crowell. 💫

We’re excited to continue our choreographer introductions as we get closer to our May 9 show! ✨

Next up, we’re thrilled to spotlight Cortney!

Cortney has been part of Mosaic since 2024, but her connection to the community goes back even further — she grew up attending performances by Mosaic’s predecessor company, Rainbow Tribe. She first fell in love with dance at Dance Track Studio in Wakefield and later continued pursuing her passion in college as a founding member of Quinnipiac’s Dance Team.

This is her second year choreographing for Mosaic, where she specializes in Contemporary and Jazz. For Cortney, Mosaic truly embodies the idea that dance is healing and that the people you dance with become family 🤍

We can’t wait for you to experience her piece on stage at our 4th Annual Company Show — May 9!

Choreographer Spotlight #5 ✨

Introducing our fifth choreographer feature as we count down to the show! We’re so excited to highlight Taylor Lombard and the incredible creativity she brings to this year’s performance.

Taylor has been dancing with Mosaic Dance Inc. since 2022 and this is her second season as a choreographer. Her contemporary piece is about the power and joy that can be found in friendships during dark times. When not dancing with Mosaic, you can catch Taylor performing in local burlesque shows, including holiday favorite “The Slutcracker.”

With just one month to go, the excitement is building and the lineup keeps getting stronger!

✨ Choreographer Spotlight ✨

We’re so excited to continue introducing the talented choreographers behind this year’s recital! Each piece you’ll see on stage reflects their creativity, dedication, and love for our dancers.

Today we’re highlighting Laura Crowell

Laura has been a member of Mosaic Inc. and Embrace for a few years now, continuing to grow in her craft since the age of 3. Dance has always been her outlet, a place where she’s been able to channel her strength, overcome challenges, and stay grounded in her faith.

With a true passion for choreographing, Laura loves bringing movement to life. This marks her second time choreographing a piece, and this time, she’s especially excited to do it alongside her college best friend and fellow Mosaic member, Tracy. Together, they’re creating something meaningful, rooted in purpose, connection, and creativity.

Be sure to join us at our show on May 9th — it’s going to be an unforgettable celebration of all their hard work 🎶👏
