🌕 The Sturgeon Moon is almost here—and this year it comes with a partial lunar eclipse!
The Full Sturgeon Moon reaches its peak on August 27 across North America and just after midnight on August 28 throughout Europe and much of Asia. Named for the giant sturgeon that were traditionally caught in late summer, this Full Moon has also been known as the Green Corn Moon, Grain Moon, and Red Moon, celebrating the season's harvests.
As an added bonus, this Full Moon will feature a Partial Lunar Eclipse, visible across Europe, Africa, North and South America, along with much of the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Watch as Earth's shadow appears to take a bite out of the Moon—a beautiful celestial event that's completely safe to enjoy with the naked eye.
