My work lays heavily on historic tradition, both in design and manufacture, largely involving the same types of tools and processes that were used in the period by 17th and 18th Century craftsman. I formally learned traditional metalwork at the American College of the Building Arts (Class of 2017)....

🎻⚒️ Good blacksmithing deserves a good soundtrack.

That’s why we’re excited to welcome C.B. Pickers from Gettysburg to Mousetown Forge for our Summer Hammer-In on June 6.

After a full day of sparks, steel, and hammer blows, they’ll be taking the stage to keep the energy going with live bluegrass at the forge.

Let’s be honest—there are few things that pair better than blacksmithing and bluegrass. One is built on rhythm. The other is built on rhythm… and occasionally setting things on fire.

Today, we pause the sound of hammers and remember those who never came home.

Memorial Day is not about a long weekend—it’s about honoring the men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation and the freedoms we enjoy every day.

From all of us at the Blacksmith Guild of Western Maryland at Mousetown Forge, we remember their sacrifice, honor their legacy, and extend our gratitude to the families who carry that loss.

May we never forget.
