We’re scaling up and making big pots with Tony Clennell in October at Artspiration Frederick Ceramics Lab Artspiration Frederick. Tony Tony Clennell will be teaching the making of large utilitarian forms and adding various types of his signature handles to these forms. Just a few spots left in our 3 day, hands-on workshop with Akira Satake Akira Satake “Finding the Beauty in Imperfection” Artspiration Frederick September 11, 12 & 13. Learn about Akira’s “Satake Style” stretched kohiki slip to make cups and teapots. Akira will demonstrate the Kurinuki technique for you to make a sculpture/vase, chawan, box, etc. Using the wheel, or by hand building, you will add Dobe mortar to make a yunomi, chawan, and sake bottle. Akira will also discuss his experience and knowledge of the Japanese aesthetic.
