Depending on the weather, a friend or two from Jenn's Uncommon Critters will be making an appearance at the Mount Airy Farmers Market on Wednesday.

The Frederick-based non-profit is a rescue and interactive animal education program focusing on reptiles, invertebrates and small mammals.

If you are financially able to do so, consider donating to this outstanding nonprofit.

Today in 1972, the film Deliverance was released in U.S. theaters. Known for its stereotypical depictions of Appalachians and filmed in northern Georgia, Deliverance was based on the 1970 novel by the same name, written by James Dickey.

We were there! We really enjoyed an evening of swapping stories and traditional mountain ballads at the breathtaking Orchard at Altapass. The fundraiser in support of The Orchard music program featured accomplished local musicians Sheila Kay Adams, Donna Ray Norton, and William Ritter.
