It is the goal of Watauga County Parks and Recreation to provide quality programming to all the citizens of the community. We believe

programs should be enjoyable, fun, safe, fulfilling, and rewarding. Recreational opportunities should emphasize participation for enjoyment, self understanding, self discipline, team work, and sportsmanship, The primary purpose of programs is for youth and adults to reach their full potential through complete participation in recreational activities. Watauga County Parks and Recreation strives to prepare youth for adulthood and the enhancement of overall quality of life for all Watauga County Citizens.

KICK IT INTO GEAR THIS SUMMER!

Registration is now open for the Summer Adult Kickball League!

Gather your friends, coworkers, family members, or teammates and get ready for an exciting season of fun, competition, and plenty of laughs.

Adult Open League (Ages 15+)
No gender restrictions – men's, women's, or co-ed teams welcome
$200 per team
6 guaranteed games (regular season and tournament play)
Games played Monday evenings between 6:00 PM and 10:30 PM
Teams may play up to 2 games per night
Games played at the Complex Fields by the Recreation Center

Season begins the week of July 6 and runs approximately 5–6 weeks.

Watauga County Parks & Recreation is excited to host Challenger Soccer Camp the week of July 6–10! Whether your child is just learning the game or looking to sharpen their skills, this internationally recognized camp offers a fun, high-energy environment focused on player development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and confidence-building. Challenger Sports camps are designed for players of all skill levels and are led by experienced coaches using training methods from around the world.

Celebrate the red, white, and blue on the courts this June with TWO exciting pickleball tournaments at the Watauga Community Recreation Center!

📅 Tournament Dates:
⭐ Tuesday, June 23 | 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM
⭐ Thursday, June 25 | 6:00 PM – 8:30 PM

🏓 Doubles Round Robin Format
👫 No gender restrictions
🏆 Awards presented in divisional categories

Divisions:
🔹 Recreational Division (3.0 & Under)
🔹 Competitive Division (3.5)

💲 Cost: $25 per person, per tournament

👕 Register by June 8 to receive a commemorative tournament t-shirt!

The 2026 High Country Senior Games began Friday, May 1. Thank you to Appalachian Brian Estates for hosting the High Country Senior Games Kickoff Breakfast and the bocce & horseshoes events. Appalachian Brian Estates will have the SilverArts entries on display until the Performing Arts Banquet on June 4th at Generations Ashe Senior Center. The final registration deadline of May 10th is approaching fast. So register soon to avoid missing all the fun HCSG events continuing through the rest of May.
