ARISE Music Festival is much more than a music festival…it’s a movement. ARISE Music Festival creates spectacular, soulful and meaningful experiences for our participants through music, art and other modalities. We feature multiple genres of music—jam, EDM, rock, bluegrass, funk and reggae—as well as art, dance, yoga, theater, workshops and speakers. ARISE strives to inspire all of our participant

s to care for themselves, their community and their world. Independently owned and operated since 2012, Arise Music Festival was produced at Sunrise Ranch in northern Colorado until 2019 while expanding its audience from two to 13,000 participants. During the pandemic, ARISE purchased their own land entitled “The Cradle,” an organic ranch and farm along the Arkansas River, about two hours south of Denver. Additionally, the land contains 400 acres of irrigated grasslands and hundreds of trees. For the future, ARISE will strive to cultivate one of the most functional, spectacular and epic festivals in the world while continuing to grow our audience. In our prior post, we shared our first creative principle: ease of amenities.
In short: make the basic things easier, so you can spend more time inside the actual experience in a safe way.

Our second creative principle is:
Zones of Diverse and Balanced Experience.

Humans are not one thing all weekend.

Sometimes we want music.
Sometimes dancing.
Sometimes conversation.
Sometimes silence.
Sometimes something strange.
Sometimes a chair.

So we are designing Wildoria with multiple zones that speak to different parts of the festival experience.

It begins, of course, with music. WE WILL ANNOUNCE THE LINEUP SOON

On the Main Stage, we bring the larger energy: jam, EDM, funk, soul, reggae, rock, pop and more.

On the Second Stage, we move deeper into dance, movement, late-night energy and discovery.

Across the festival, you will also hear folk, singer-songwriter, acoustic, sacred sound and sound healing.

But Wildoria is not only stages.

We are building other zones to balance the music:

Center Camp
Shade, water, food, seating, information, vendors, speakers, workshops, theater, comedy and whatever else makes sense by then.

Fireside
A quieter space for ritual, learning, healing, singing, drumming, acoustic instruments and the kind of things that should probably not happen next to a subwoofer.

Riverside
A place to slow down by the river, sit in the wind, watch the light, socialize, encounter interactive art and possibly wander into small theater.

Overall, we are designing a festival that gives you the party, but not only the party.

Music. Movement. Food. Rest. Conversation. Art. Fire. Stillness. Community.

A full weekend should have range.

Coming soon: our third creative principle, Integrated Design.

We will release our website and tickets in the next couple weeks. In the meantime, we will present the five creative principals guiding the design of Wildoria, beginning with the first principle, which we call internally: “ease of amenities.”
In other words: we want many aspects of this festival to feel easy, so you can focus more on the musical, artistic and experiential parts.

Travel time:
roughly two to three hours from most Front Range cities.
Ingress and egress:
we expect little to no wait times.

Camping:
flat grass camping.
With a car pass, you also receive car camping at no extra charge.
All camping flows within a short walk into what we currently call Center Camp (yes, we will likely rename it.)
Camping is separated from bright lights and loud music so people can actually sleep.

Center Camp will provide:
shade
places to sit
potable water
wifi (stay off the phone anyway)
beverages
food from our kitchen and select food trucks
nearby showers

Center Camp is also one of the social and entertainment zones before flowing into the Wildorian meadows and festival grounds.

Food:
Wildoria is building its own kitchen to provide nourishing and delicious (but not fancy) meals. Some meals will need to be prepurchased ahead of time. More on that later.

Showers:
available for purchase and likely prepurchased ahead of time for guaranteed access.
We have also selected experienced safety, security and medical teams to help create a safe environment.

And finally: we intentionally chose what we believe are the best dates and locations in Colorado to maximize our chances of warm days, cool nights, minimal rain and a full harvest moon.

Next up:
our second creative principal:
"Diverse and balanced zones of experience."

I was the executive producer/owner of the Arise Music Festival from 2013 until its demise in 2022—and I am now in the same position for Wildoria, the upcoming festival.
I wanted to address some of the negative and confused comments we have received on Facebook recently.

--First of all, negative people are, way disproportionately, expressive online than positive people in this context. So thirty negative comments might look bad but, in reality, we have accumulated hundreds of new followers in the past weeks and received thousands of likes.

--Secondly, we are letting people know about Wildoria on the Arise Facebook because if you loved Arise, you might also love Wildoria, perhaps even more. So we are spreading the word. At some point, we will transition the Arise social media over to Wildoria. And we hope you continue to follow us but we understand if its not for you.

--Our logo art is, in fact, not AI but developed by an especially fast and methodical and talented concept artist who I already worked with. We went through maybe five or six iterations of notes and new drafts. He works with digital pens and paintbrushes to draft, and then refines the lines and symmetry in photoshop—a method that has been around for several decades now.
This makes perfect sense to me because:
*I have not seen AI do this level of work before with consistent results.
*This level of drafting is entirely within his skillset and imagination.
*And this person seems consistently honest to me.
*If you run this level of refined work though an AI detector, it wil give you a false positive.
*See the attached screenshot of sketches

He is paid and AI did not displace his job.
We understand people fear AI and for good reason. Its an amazing tool that threatens our livelihoods, our talents and even our purpose in life—and maybe even our existence.
I in part named the festival Wildoria because I feel people need less machine and more wild to deal with increasing onslaught of digital dominance and techno-capitalism in general.
At this point, we do not have a policy about AI, but will consider developing one. But in all cases, we mean to hire real artists who perform in reality—and support them, including live painters, dancers, musicians, speakers, thespians and etc.
Our logo continues to move through various iterations and in my opinion is unique and stunning and powerful in its form and symbology.

--We are sorry to disappoint some with the name of the festival. It makes perfect sense that if you loved Arise, you now feel hurt that we abandoned the name and then even did not use the similar name: Emerge.
We get that.
But at the end of the day, we did choose Wildoria because we love the name and we did not chose the other names because if we did, I, personally, could encounter some serious legal and branding blowback in the coming months or years.
We wanted to hit the frontier with new names, new ideas and live our time in the land of Wildoria without fear of lawyers.

--We hope we can make our social media engaging….so we encourage support, appreciation, feedback, challenges, corrections, debates, humor, questions and even some snarfy and mean comments. But we do not appreciate false comments meant to malign and defame Wildoria or spread false rumours. Sadly, this behavior can cause us damage so we have to control it….so we reserve the right to block and send you a letter in the process.

If you want to scream violation of free speech and censorship, the attached cartoon is my answer to you.

Or said in another way: this space is our community and if you do not have good manners and basic respect for the truth and other people, then we do not want you here.

--What is Wildoria? We have been running a teaser campaign over the past two months, to gradually reveal the identity of the festival. I think it kind of works? Or not? But very soon now, we will reveal nearly all of our identity but I can tell you this for now: I am about collaborating with great artists and engineers to design the total experience of the festival and provide our attendees with diverse and balanced experiences that awaken the mind and body and spirit.
We will provide awesome music from many genres but if you want giant stages all day, and all night long, then you have many other choices out there…..
But we encourage you to come with us to contribute to and explore into this world we are creating….we are looking for the pioneers of Wildoria.

This is what happens when the day lets go

Calling the Wildorians…
There is a point in the day
when most people are still holding something.

Schedules. Conversations. Expectations.
A version of themselves.

And then, occasionally, that loosens.

And something else takes over.

We are building a place where that happens more easily.

Where music, space, and time are arranged
so you don’t have to work so hard to get there.

Calling the Wildorians….

Do you want to visit our village September 25 through 28th, 2026 (Harvest moon)?

To help you decide, we will make some posts over the next few weeks
defining the experience of Wildoria.

In about one month, we will launch our website and put tickets on sale.

But for now, we want you to join us in the process of creation—as our team
designs out the experience while welcoming your feedback. (By the way, we appreciate humour, advice, inspiration
and criticism and we might tolerate some meanies, too.)

The new music, arts, and camping festival in Colorado
September 25–28, 2026 — Harvest Moon
Wildoria is a realm of the wild—
in place and spirit.

We respect our civilization.

But here, we step beyond into the world of

— greater freedom and expression
— adventure and spontaneity
— vitality and movement
— intelligence and intuition
— community and love
— grass, trees, river, moon, stars, and clouds
— and cutting-edge music, art, ritual, and theater
We hope to remind you to remember what you already know.
Over the coming weeks, we will reveal more about the world of Wildoria.
Soon after: website and tickets on sale.

Yes, we are tired of calling ourselves the New Camping Festival in Colorado, and sending out white posters, so we are eager to announce our name next week.

Some notes on the names:

WILDORIA
(The realm of wild)
--Both the place and experience of wild
--By wild: we mean natural, free, communal, caring, kinetic,
and energized in the outdoors.
--Our love of nature, of Colorado, and the tradition of Arise.
--And we also mean: “like, “that’s wild, dude.”

REVELAND
(The land of revelry and revelation)
--Not sure people like the word “revelation?”

WILDESCENCE
--Same idea as Wildoria.
--Sounds bit like the name of a perfume; but we still like it.

REVELION
(The land of revelry and revelation)
and benevolent rebellion.

NOTE: the favorite of this poll does not necessarily win, as we have to consider other factors.

We are working hard with an awesome team....to make this one of your best experience ever.

Name announced very soon.

In the meantime, join us in creating the event by revealing your favorite musical acts in the comments below.
Like Arise we will feature multi-genres of music along these lines:
--Bring the party: Jam and funk bands, and EDM, most especially with instrumentation.
--Reggae/ska, bluegrass, folk, world and etc…
--Sound healing and sacred.
--Late night dancing to EDM.
--We want great vocalists.
--We are looking for bands at any level of “success.” We love the unusually talented, the unique and emerging.
Music for your body. Music for all parts of your soul.
But music is only one aspect of our more expansive and epic vision for this festival.
Standby for more on that.
