Amber Bateman, Director of the Watauga County Arts Council, is currently planning an exhibit of paintings from local artist groups from Nov. 18-the end of December. Each of us who are in the area are invited to deliver 3-5 paintings prior to the 18th. There is no fee, and we will get 80% of the proceeds from sales of any paintings. This is a splendid opportunity to make some holiday sales!

If you are interested, here is a link to a registration form for you to fill out. It has some additional details about the exhibit. Here is the link for artists to register for an end of year showcase:

If you need someone to pick up and store your paintings until you can retrieve them, let me know. Also, if anyone in the West Jefferson area wants to drop off paintings for me to deliver for them, let me know. I plan to deliver mine next Wednesday, so you would need to get them to me before then.

I have just chosen 23 framed paintings--some new, some favorites-- to hang next week at the Edgewood Cottage, where I am invited to be Artist-In-Residence from July 29th to Aug. 4th along with artist Jack Hamrick. Matted originals and prints will also be available. There will be a reception on Thursday evening, August 1, from 5 to 7 PM. If you are here in the High Country, I hope you will come and see my work!

Thanks to all of you who came to see my National Oark exhibit at Florence Thomas Art School. It has now been taken down, and I have hung 28 of my paintings in the Seby Jones Cancer Center at the Watauga Hospital. I hope they bring some cheer to the patients there.
