Join us this Sunday February 15 2:00-4:30 at NCAD Bonsall for a Contemporary Pas de Deux workshop with Julia McCullock & Jonathan Cubides.
This workshop will explore partner work fundamentals that build upon each other to make complex duet movement more accessible. Expect to incorporate floorwork, improvisation, and physical connection in this two-hour workshop, culminating in a professional-level duet phrase. Class will be filmed, and the footage will be sent out to participants for personal or audition use.
Jonathan Cubides and Julia McCullock are contemporary dancers, choreographers, and educators with professional experience in concert dance settings. Jonathan is a company member with Dance Kaleidoscope and trained at the USC Glorya Kaufman School of Dance. Julia has performed and taught with Backhaus Dance and Pearl Street Dance Collective, and previously served as a company dancer and rehearsal director with Twopoint4 Dance Theater. Julia’s background includes extensive performance, choreographic, and teaching work across the country.
Together, they bring a shared focus on concert contemporary partnering rooted in trust and adaptability, guiding dancers through technical partnering principles while fostering creative agency and embodied communication. Their concert contemporary partnering class cultivates strength, sensitivity, and responsiveness, preparing dancers for professional and collegiate contemporary dance environments.
