Registration for the Fall session of Music In Motion was just emailed to families that attended our summer session. Registration will open to all this Thursday at 9:30am.

This 6 week session will run Wednesday 9/17-10/22 at Big Sky Park 10:30-11:15am. Spooky season is our favorite! Get ready to stir some witches brew and count 5 little pumpkins!

Did you know that children engage in many types of play during their early years of development? In “onlooker play” a child simply observes and doesn’t take part in the action. I see this frequently in class, especially early in the session, and can be an important part of learning new skills!

“Don't dismiss the importance of this type of play. It's a healthy form of learning and part of your child's play journey. It could be that the child feels tentative, needs to learn the rules, or just prefers to watch before joining in play with others. Watching helps kids gain confidence and prepare for future stages of play.”

Children progress through several stages and different types of play as they grow, and playing is critical to kids’ development and learning.
