Talent Team is a non-auditioned musical theatre program that teaches youth ages 3-17 performing arts skills. This proven system of teaching focuses on singing, dancing, acting, microphone work, public speaking skills, and music theory. Each semester students have several performances so they can implement what they learned in class. Talent Team is fun and has upbeat, themed shows which provide a w
onderful opportunity for the beginning student as well as the more experienced performer. We also provides training preparation for semi-professional or professional careers through our Totality program. Mission & Vision Statement
Mission Statement
Team empowers youth through a non-auditioned performing arts program instilling personal excellence, strengthening self-esteem, promoting wholesome values, celebrating cultural diversity and uniting communities. Vision Statement
We envision Talent Team programs worldwide helping youth become confident, contributing members of their communities through performing arts and self expression. Our Core Principles
Inclusivity: Every child who is physically and mentally capable of singing, dancing or acting is able to participate in Talent Team classes. Therefore they can learn and develop performing arts skills without having to audition to participate. Our program is for everyone, regardless of race, gender, religion, or ability level. No child will ever be excluded from performances by a tryout or be made to feel like they aren’t good enough. We do our best to ensure that each child is treated with respect and allow them to blossom at their own pace. Fun: We believe that the performing arts should be fun. We believe that all children love mastering new skills which is exciting for them and also increases their self-esteem. We know that Talent Team is a wonderful and fun environment to develop lasting friendships. Good Behavior: We believe that learning performing arts skills is only half of what we do. Helping children develop character is the other half. The value of teaching children teamwork, fair play, self discipline and good behavior goes far beyond the classroom and stage. Safety: We believe your child’s safety is so very important. Therefore we background check each of the directors and teachers who interact with your children. Everyone has something to contribute: Often in the arts the competition is so fierce that just saying ‘stage mom’ or ‘diva’ brings negative connotations. We strive to teach our students and parents that every child has worth. We have the ability to cater to all skill levels. We encourage those who are more experienced to be mentors to the ‘newbies’. This mentoring helps raise the level of the entire group. We praise excellence and encourage those who struggle. We develop teams of incredible, talented people – not a class full of divas. Our Parental Pledge
I understand that Talent Team teaches performing arts skills and that each child progresses at their own pace. Besides teaching performing arts skills my child will also learn important life skills. Therefore I will be a good example to them by being supportive of all the Talent Team children and their teachers. My child needs my approval and support regardless of whether or not they perform perfectly. I will do my best to be a good example to my child and other parents. I will praise excellence and encourage those who may be struggling. I understand that Talent Team teachers are trying to develop the whole child and will help with this process by being positive and supportive. Our Name
Our name was chosen for several reasons. First of all, we are in the business of helping children develop talents in the performing arts; thus the word Talent. Secondly, we believe in the saying: Together Each Achieves More. We also know that team work is a huge life skill to learn. Our students learn to work together as a ‘team’ to produce a wonderful show. When we teach at schools we usually send out ‘teams’ of teachers to teach all age groups simultaneously so that siblings can all have class at the same time. Team is an important part of who we are.
