On days off school and Saturday and Sunday afternoons at Public Ice Skating,
we love to turn up the music and enjoy gliding around the ice skating rink Rockin’ to the beat of the greatest hits. We like to have fun, so our Rockin’ Public Ice Skating always has a musical theme. At least two times per month in the Fall and Winter, Rockin’ Ice Skating has a costumed character event where you get to skate with Frosty, Rudolph, or another fun character. Making your child’s ice skating lesson experience as fun and rewarding as possible is our goal. Your child starts with Learn to Skate and progresses up through 13 ice skating levels as prescribed by the US Figure Skating Association program. Once students are comfortable ice skating, they begin to test and achieve and move up through the levels. Our goal for your child is for them to have fun building strong skills for lifelong enjoyment of ice skating. Our ice skating instructors want them to feel the joy of accomplishment that comes from practice and learning new moves. All our ice skaters can be in the Annual Holiday Ice Show and Spring Ice Show. They can compete in our August “Rocket Ice Arena Classic Basic Skills Competition” and other ice skating competitions during the year. As ice skaters progress, they can try out for one of our six Starfire Synchronized Ice Skating Teams. Synchronized Ice Skating is a fast growing sport with a twelve year history at Rocket Ice Skating Rink. Youth Hockey & Learn to Play Hockey Lessons
Our main goal is for your child to have fun and properly develop the skills to successfully enjoy a lifetime of the great sport of hockey. Our Rocket Ice Skating Rink Learn to Play Hockey Lessons have a proud eighteen year history. We have had the joy of teaching thousands of children how to ice skate and have fun playing hockey. Our instructors truly care about the students. It is our goal for them to become very capable ice skaters, strong stick handlers, and understand hockey team concepts. Once they are ready, players progress ahead to youth travel and house hockey programs such as The Sabre Hockey Association at Rocket Ice Hockey Rink. Our hockey instructors have strong backgrounds including years spent playing Juniors Hockey, Collegiate Hockey, and even some American League Professional Hockey. We are affiliated with the Chicago Blackhawks One Goal Hockey Program and use USA Hockey programs in our instruction. Youth Hockey Camps, Hockey Clinics, & Hockey Training
