ABOUT US
HomeGrown Theatre is a local, independent theatre company in Boise, Idaho dedicated to bringing a unique theatre experience to our community at an affordable cost. HomeGrown Theatre was created to expand opportunities for local artists to work together, and hone our craft in a professional setting. Each of our productions employs the talent of 15 - 30+ local artists. We also aim to create

accessible theatre for an underserved audience by producing contemporary, original, smart, fun, and exciting productions. HGT has produced 11 productions since it’s establishment in 2011 including our Annual Horrific Puppet Affair and 7 original productions. HGT also has presented over 40 play readings in our BLiP Reading Series, a monthly program which brings new plays by local playwrights to Hyde Park Books the last Tuesday of each month. With outstanding collaborators and innovative storytelling, our upcoming season of plays will continue to prove the creative vitality we can find at home. Chad Ethan Shohet, Artistic Director

HGT is proud to join this Antiracism Coalition and commits to these Action Steps for the future of our operations. It is our collective aim to dismantle white supremacy and to make Boise a more inclusive home where Black lives and Black art matters. We invite you to make this commitment as well, and welcome you to join us at: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScNgjWs78qNc9f9FjyHLCu75ZRjAWnEo1EJRSajG5eT27XMjA/viewform. Thank you to the Boise City Department of Arts and History and to the Morrison Center for providing a safe space for these important conversations. This work is not done, we are only beginning.
