Join us this Saturday for the final presentation of new work by Margaret Pope, developed during her six-week residency at MING Studios.

Pope will deconstruct COPPICE, a sculpture and video installation composed of burned timber and cast concrete, in a live performance. Visitors will witness the physical labor of unmaking and the material consequences of dismantling a built environment. The presentation will also include a showing of a video completed in collaboration with Halle Johns.

The dismantling marks the final act in the life cycle of COPPICE.

This one day event is free & open to the public.

Open Studio: Margaret Pope
Sunday, September 13 | 4:00–6:00 PM

Meet Margaret and experience the work she has developed over the course of her residency. Visitors are invited to sit on, walk around, stand within or alongside the work, and spend time with the installation before its final presentation and transformation on September 19.

Coppice

Margaret Pope will dismantle the sculpture and video installation, Coppice, in a live performance. The public will witness the physical labor of unmaking and the material consequences of dismantling a built environment. The performance marks the final act in the life cycle of the artwork.

MING’s Studio Space residency provides Boise-area artists with dedicated time, space, and support for the creation of new work. Designed for artists who would benefit from the scale of the gallery and its central location, the program offers free access to a large, flexible workspace, and opportunities for meaningful public engagement.

Dena is a non-native Idahoan and a rebel poet who keeps using poetry to tip the scales toward more of the words that deserve to be said and heard- especially right now.

Last December she launched her newest collection called Signs & Psalms at Rediscovered Books to a sold out crowd. She’s grateful to Ming Studios for giving another opportunity for the community to help her celebrate this book. An eclectic collection of complaints, hallelujahs, and complete exhaustion and/or surrender, it has all the essentials of life. In December she shared a set of poems from it focused on hate and hope including Poet as Prophet, American Psalm, and Build Hope. On May 3 she will share a new set focused on forgiveness and fire including White Flag, Whiplash from Elvis and Morning is Not Broken. This is your invitation to come hear more of the poems that make this book stand out at a time when poetry is crying out to be heard.

My___on Mondays Episode 219: Tiffany Eller is a poet, entertainer, and all-around creative. Her poetry explores themes of spirituality, love, and the complexities of being human. She values vulnerability and authenticity, advocating for everyone to find the freedom to Be. Her first publication, the Little Cuties coloring book, featured hand-drawn characters to encourage body positivity. Every project she finds herself poring over stems from the desire to create safe spaces for people to express themselves. Tiffany lives in Boise, Idaho, where she manages The Boise Bard Players, a nonprofit theatre company, and raises her daughter Henley. This week, she shares eight short poems.

7o'clock, 04/19/2026: SCALE / bodies in places is a new devised work by Rolodex that asks: “How can we see our collective humanity large enough to re-create the world while individual humans are so small and short-lived?” Collaboratively choreographed for flexibility, the piece conforms to the space in which it is performed. Movers respond to the DUST ON A GLACIER exhibition at MING by becoming glaciers, becoming sand, becoming light, becoming time.
