At BIA, our mission is to train young dancers through the musicality, technical precision, and artis

BIA offers four divisions: Children’s, Preparatory & Pre-Professional, Adult, and Extra- Curricular. These divisions provide for students pursuing a professional career in dance as well as students dancing recreationally, the proper guidance best suited for their individual goals and trajectory.

✨Parent Observation Week at BIA✨

We’re excited to invite all parents and guardians to join us for a special look inside our studios from October 12-17! Come watch your student in action and get a glimpse of their creative journey.

➡️ Important Notes:
1️⃣ Parents are invited into their student’s classroom to observe during this week only. Please do not peek into studios outside of this week because it can be very distracting to students.
2️⃣ During classes parents are welcome to wait in either the main building’s back lobby or upstairs in the Phil building’s wait area. Children’s Division parents are encouraged to wait in the back lobby while their student is in class.
3️⃣ No visitors will be permitted in classes outside of Parent Observation Week.
4️⃣ A second observation period will be held in the spring.
5️⃣ Please no outside shoes in the studios.

We look forward to welcoming you into our studios and celebrating your student’s hard work and growth!

Hear from two of our 26.27 seniors!

✨Mele: “The past couple of years I have been so blessed to be able to attend BIA and experience such a great dance community. As a senior, I am extremely thrilled and emotional to perform some of “my lasts”, such as my last performance at Art in the Park, The Nutcracker, Youth Company, Recital, and more! During this upcoming season I’m looking forward to further improving myself as a dancer, artist, and individual, and being an inspiration to others. In addition, I’ve had countless opportunities to work with a variety of choreographers which I will miss dearly. Regardless of whether I continue to dance or not, I am so thankful for the many growth opportunities I’ve had here. I’m eager for more experiences and memories to form during my senior year at the academy.”

✨Scarlet: “I really enjoyed dropping into adult classes over the summer. It was fun to let loose a bit and learn from different teachers in Ballet Idaho’s company! I also volunteered with Dance for Parkinson’s. Getting to see the attendees’ joy from dancing was so rewarding and I ended up becoming friends with many of the “regulars.”

It’s my senior season, so of course everything is bittersweet this year. I’m looking forward to enjoying my last Nutcracker, but not saying goodbye to the Morrison Center stage. I’m also excited to get to dance with my sister in the Youth Company. This will be her first year and my last, so it feels very symbolic to pass on that opportunity to her!”

In addition to our required uniform leotards for Ballet 1 through Advanced 2, we now offer in-stock leotard options for our Children’s Division, as well as shirts and tights for our male dancers.

Each September, BIA students are invited to audition for The Nutcracker. Participants rehearse weekly in preparation for the several December performances. Dancers will perform onstage at The Morrison Center alongside the professional company with live music performed by the Boise Philharmonic. It’s truly a one-of-a-kind experience for these kids in the Treasure Valley!

✨Partnering Class with Professional Company Dancers

Partnering classes return with the opportunity for students to dance alongside professional company dancers. The benefits are countless as dancers are coached through partnered pirouettes, lifts, and balances building on the foundation learned this fall.
