Pluff Mudd Art Gallery Pluff Mudd Art is a unique gallery located in the heart of Old Town Bluffton, SC. Visit us and see w Potter, Jon Nelson and Peggy Duncan with this concept.

Pluff Mudd Art Gallery was originally formed in April 2002 under the name of A Guild of Bluffton Artists. Local artist Bill Mattox first came up with the idea of a co-op art gallery and approached fellow artists Lynda K. They all agreed the idea would be a great way to promote local art in “Old Town” Bluffton. To increase the variety of art displayed at the gallery, they decided to invite other Bluffton artists to join them as members of the Guild. In 2006, after 4 successful years at their original location, A Guild of Bluffton Artists moved across Calhoun Street to their present location. With the move, they expanded their membership to include local artists from Hilton Head and Beaufort and changed their name from A Guild of Bluffton Artists to Pluff Mudd Art. The name “Pluff Mudd” also known as “plough mud” is the Lowcountry term used to describe the dark, soft soil found at the bottom of the marshes and at the edges of the May River, which is at the end of Calhoun Street. Pluff mud is an essential part of the eco-system of the marsh. Similarly, Pluff Mudd Art is an integral part of the vibe of Old Town Bluffton. The Pluff Mudd Art is a co-op gallery. It has grown each year and owes its success to the talent, quality artwork and dedication of its members

Congratulations John!

You’ll know this face for two reasons at the Art League Gallery of Hilton Head. He’s our current FEATURED ARTIST… and Crum is stepping into the role of ALHH GALLERY MANAGER! 🎨🙌

We’re excited to welcome him, an extraordinary artist, devoted colleague and community leader to the Art League family.

Crum takes on his responsibilities immediately as he greets Gallery guests at his signature exhibit, Finding the Rhythm of Nature: Art that Makes You Smile, running through November 13th.

A graduate of The Ringling School of Art & Design, Crum has enjoyed a long career in illustration, graphic arts, book design, mural painting, and fine art.

He came to Hilton Head Island from Ohio more than two decades ago and continues to draw inspiration from the distinctive landscapes and creative community of the Lowcountry.

Crum will present an artist demonstration on Friday, October 30, at 10:30am, at his new office, the Gallery!
