There’s something about tiny pieces of paper that makes everything feel lighter.

Lately, my favorite nights look like this—
a handful of 2”x3” watercolor scraps,
a table full of color,
and my girls beside me, creating just to create.

The first few?
A little stiff. A little “am I doing this right?”
Very much in my head.

But then something shifts.

The lines loosen.
The colors get bolder.
The rules quietly leave the room.

And suddenly it’s not about making something good—
it’s about following curiosity…
seeing what happens if…
letting it be messy, playful, a little unexpected.

And honestly?
Those are always my favorite ones.

Not the perfect ones.
The free ones.

If you’ve been feeling stuck,
try making a lot of something small.
No pressure, no masterpiece—just momentum.

Sometimes the magic isn’t in the first try…
it’s in giving yourself permission to keep going. ✨

Not everything we feel needs to be fixed.
Some of it just wants to be seen.

This weeks creative check-in, we’re doing something a little different—
we’re meeting the emotions that have been taking up space.

Not analyzing them.
Not judging them.
Just… drawing them.

Turns out when you give your stress a face,
it’s a little less scary.
(and sometimes a little ridiculous)

No art skills needed.
Just show up.

Creative Current holds space in a few different ways.

Sometimes that looks like structured, art-based creative wellness programs inside schools, healthcare systems, and community institutions — where steadiness and predictability matter.

Sometimes it looks like one-to-one creative embodiment sessions — slower, more personal, deeply reflective.

And sometimes it’s a weekly community group where we gather, ground, create, and leave a little more regulated than we arrived.

Different settings.
Same foundation.

Structure.
Mindfulness.
Guided art-making.
No performance.

Whether you’re part of an organization or simply seeking your own creative reset, there’s an entry point here.

Welcome to Creative Current.

This is where art meets structure —
where mindfulness meets real-world settings.

I design and facilitate structured, art-based creative wellness programs for schools, healthcare systems, senior communities, and other institutional spaces.

Each group follows a steady rhythm:
grounding → guided art-making → reflection → integration.

No performance.
No fixing.
Just thoughtful, well-held creative space designed to support regulation, resilience, and connection.

If you’re part of an organization seeking grounded, art-based wellness programming — you’re in the right place.

Based in Bluffton, SC.
Partnership inquiries welcome.

I think I’m shedding more than just a social media strategy.

This feels bigger.

Somewhere along the way I bought into the whole machine —
the funnels, the constant visibility, the “scale or die” energy,
the idea that if I just optimized harder I’d finally arrive.

Batch more.
Post more.
Network more.
Systematize. Automate. Monetize.
Smile while doing it.

It’s exhausting.

And honestly? It’s not why I started this.

I didn’t start Creative Current to become a content factory.
I started it because I believe in rooms.

Rooms where women make art without judgement.
Rooms where kids create without being graded.
Rooms where grief has somewhere to land.

This end-of-year-of-the-snake energy feels like a shedding.
Not dramatic.
Not reactive.
Just… done.

Done contorting myself to fit a business model that doesn’t fit me.

I’m keeping what feels alive.
I’m releasing what feels performative.

Maybe I’ll post.
Maybe I won’t.
Maybe I’ll build slower.
Maybe I’ll build smaller.

But I’m building truer.

If you’re here for that — stay.

P.S. I overlaid this with “Fuego” by Murder By Death simply because It’s my favorite song. No strategy. No BS

You don’t need a perfect routine.
You don’t need more discipline.
You don’t need to “try harder.”

You need pockets.

Small, realistic moments of relief you can return to when the day gets loud (why is it always so loud?).

Motherhood is sensory. It’s constant. It’s beautiful and overwhelming at the same time.

Five quiet minutes won’t change your whole life —
but they might help you stay inside it.

This isn’t a checklist.
It’s something to come back to.

Save this for the next hard stretch. 🤍
