Good afternoon, everyone!
So, it appears there are some pretty good rumors going around about our little shop and I felt I would share our side of the story. Call it "damage control" if you feel the need.
Over the last 2 years we have tried to provide the Bluffton community with a great experience here at our shop, and we want our shop to be family friendly and welcoming.
For this to happen, I have specific expectations for the artists that I contract for our shop. I expect our artist to dress and be professional. I do not condone sexual misbehavior, and I expect them follow state guidelines. I have let 3 artists go due not following these expectations. The last artist gave a 2-week notice and was asked to leave 3 days before the end of that notice with compensation.
I cannot expect a mother to bring her child in for ear piercings and have an artist dressed unflattering, have a bad odor or have to hear unacceptable conversations for a child.
So, take the information you have been given and come to your own conclusions, but if telling a person to go home and clean up because their hair is not brushed and their clothes smell is being a bully! Then call me a bully! Asking an artist to not make sexual comments or DM clients for "personal favors" is being a bully! Then ya! I am a bully.
I am by no means a perfect owner and will always be my biggest critic, but I will not allow this type of behavior to go on in my shop.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions.
Thanks for your time, and I hope to see you in the shop some day.
