As we start eyeballing a shift to cooler weather (any time here, Momma Nature... 😾), we're shifting gears into some new and fun ideas. We've never produced much specific to holidays, but do look for some upcoming little adjustments for Halloween... We'll show you in a little bit.

To celebrate a return to Momma Nature NOT trying to cook us, we will be doing another sale event soon. 😹

But there's something a little less fun that we need to talk about 🫣 After giving Fridays a good, fair shake, it's looking like we're going to need to rethink our schedule. There's just not enough activity to justify giving up a full day of production, a condensed teaching schedule, and let's not overlook the heightened wear and tear on me and the Boss. 😭 As much as I don't like it, our Friday hours aren't serving us or you very well. With me and the Boss already over a year out from our last planned day off, this is wear and tear we can't afford.

After 6 months worth of Fridays, starting the week of October 1st, we will no longer be keeping Friday hours. 🙀 We'll be taking this back to the drawing board to try to figure out how to best serve you 🥹

But that'll be enough of that for now... It's time for...

When have a Trio of rock-stars for you tonight, and we revisited some some old friends along the way... most with a spooky season twist... 👻

Falkor, buddy? Is that you? 🙀 You been playing with kryptonite?

And there's our old friends, the crystal dragons 🐉 also looking like they went to work with Homer Simpson...

From here, we're on to unfamiliar faces... 😹 Our new friends, the Gargoyles, one with a custom glowing the dark adjustment to make him stand out a little in the dark 😸

Next is a little friend that's been waiting a long, long time 🐸🤠 Our Cowboy Frog was a model that was scheduled a long, long time ago, but an untimely equipment breakdown forced us to pivot, and we've only just realized the oversight that he didn't get his turn in the spotlight 😹 With Halloween in the offing, what better time to give him his time in the spotlight?

Keeping to a theme, we have another mash-up 🍓🐢🍫 Our Chocolate Strawberry Sea Turtle! We're going to keep with these mash-up styles as we get closer to the Spooky Season's conclusion.

Last, we updated the presentation of our Planet Litho Pendant lights, and while I'm pleased with that specific part, overall, I'm not happy with how this one came out 😠 Uranus looks wrong 😹

Jokes aside, this one is going to have to be redone because I screwed up. 😬 When I made the adjustments in size, I neglected to thin out the walls so that light could shine through as expected. That has Uranus's (you're welcome 😹) color tint off, and while the light fixture throws copious amounts of light, the main feature of Uranus (again, you're welcome 🤣) itself doesn't show up well at all. This is one that my inner artist-tyrant isn't going to allow to rest.

It's been another real meat-grinder of a week 😭 We do have a couple of silver-linings, but let's slog through the...

This was one of those weeks where you look up and say, "Look, just tell me what I did wrong and I promise I'll never do it again... 😿 Please?! 🥺"

We worked all week long on our hanging lamp conversion for Uranus this time... It did not go well. 😖 I'm still trying to work out exactly what the problem is, but I'm thinking that I might have to make radical changes to my approach.

Through all of that, the fight continues with both large format machines. The Ender 5 Max's leveling system is famously twitchy, and I'm officially fed up. 😾🤬 So, we have a Cartographer probe on the way... These are incredibly neat - they use the electromagnetic field of the heat bed's magnet to accurately "scan" the bed. The conversion process is going to be... Less-fun, but if it gets this machine back online and to quit being a nightmare, it's a bargain at twice the price in time and money. This SHOULD *we interrupt your regularly scheduled speil to knock on wood* be the last phase of nonsense with this machine.

The K2 Plus has been equally recalcitrant, with problem after problem. Every issue resolved reveals two more. 😭 Hopefully the next wave of parts with bring this happy nonsense to an end as well.

Our 3,000th Student Sale was a wild success 😹 Many people took home new printers, both at a discount and with extra filament. We will be having another sale soon for Labor Day/Good-bye to Summer, so stay tuned! 😸

But for the rest of the good news, it's time to shift gears to...

🤩🥳😹😻NEW PRODUCTS😻😹🥳🤩

It hasn't all been frustration and four-letter-word expositions. We managed to make a full run of our new White-Tailed Deer... Just look for them quickly - they were all gone by noon Saturday last week! 🙀

We did lose immense amounts of time to the Uranus shenanigans, but, we learned a bit in the process. With some luck, we'll be able to bring that home next week 🤞

We did have time for a couple of little special somethings... 😹 First, because we've done so much cat, it was time to balance things out and do some of the goodest boys 🐕🐩🐕‍🦺 The puppy lamps are so cute, and we can't wait to bring you more in this line of thought.

Also, we brought something else special... We managed to make a lamp that captures the creation of Cristo Redentor 🙀 For those of you not familiar, Cristo Redentor (Or Christ the Redeemer) is the statue of Jesus that watches over Rio De Janeiro from on the ridge over the city. This model proved quite challenging, and while we look forward to bringing more of them to you as we refine the model process, supplies are going to be limited in the early days 😹

It's... been a week... Yeah... So let's just soldier on into the...

This week's most prominent feature is I took a NASTY fall 😬 So simple, so stupid, and my right hand mostly our of commission all week 😭 That didn't stop me from getting some prints done, but it stopped all maintenance work cold and has been a constant obstruction to teaching all week long 😿

We've continued working with the Flashforge Creator 5, and it's been a mixed bag 🧐 We gave it the exclusive job of one of our model types for this weekend and while it didn't disappoint, it was more trouble than it needed to be.

This weekend is also the last week of our 3,000th Student Sale 😹 Don't miss your chance for a 10% discount or extra rolls of filament for your new printer! We still have 5 printers in stock and when they're gone, they're gone! 🙀

We do plan to do another, different sort of sale soon, so stay tuned! 😸

We also managed to get some more color chips done this week, so don't hesitate to ask to see them!

Last in the realm of news, Three Dee has been growing at a fantastic rate, and we couldn't be more pleased 😹 It's come to a point that the way our store-space is set up isn't working so well anymore. Our filament is not as easy for you to get to as we want, plus we need room for that to grow. We've added PETG filament to our offerings now, and it's squeezing us tightly while making our display a little awkward to navigate.

To better serve you and make our space work better for us, we're going to be reworking it entirely 🙀 We will be adding more filament display space so we have room to grow even more. My workstation will be moving to a more-central area where I can reach many more people at once and be able to teach more effectively. Also, this will lead into the technical services that we've been excited to start offering you for a long time 😹

This is going to be a weeks-long process, and we're still in the preparation and planning stages, so look for more on this as we progress 😻

🤩🥳😹😻NEW PRODUCTS!!!😻😹🥳🤩

Today, we're revisiting some old classics on the way to our pair of rock stars 😻 Being down a wing, I decided to go down a path that was overdue for another walk... This both gave me a little help and let me revisit some old friends.

We started with the Cherry Blossom Dragons... It's been a long while since we've brought these to you 😹 and these are a first - done entirely with Matte filament. Matte filaments are great for de-emphasizing layer lines in many cases, however, they can also tell on any VFA (vertical fine artifact) issues you might have.

Next, we revisited our old favorites, the Gemstone Dragons and (not pictured) Baby Crystal Dragons 😹 With new combinations of filaments (a Sunlu translucent gradient and Numakers Neptune Starlight) both came out beautifully!

Last before out rock stars, we have the recent redesign of our Baby T-Rex, and now with their camouflage patterns complete 😹 We used these to showcase two colors that we haven't used yet - Lagoon Blue and Water Blue 😸 These models were done exclusively with the Flashforge Creator 5, and it did a good job.

Last, we've added a set to our Premium Critter line - a White-tail Doe and Buck 😻 These have been a long while coming, and I'm still working with them - you know me... if it's not perfect, my work isn't done 😅 We only had time for this pair this week, but we will be adding more of these going forward.

Happy Friday, Everyone 😻

Um... I lost my mind a little bit this week... 😹 In a good way...

I guess having most of the print farm down all that time made me... Creatively stopped up? So I creatively vomited??? I don't know... The end result is there is tons of new this week 😹 and we'll get to that... First...

We didn't bring any more printers back online this week because a new, important project quickly walked up and ate every possible leftover second of spare time. 😅 As part of our drive towards an eventual dedicated retail environment, I've been setting up a shiny new Point-of-Sale system. This will allow us to better track our inventory -and- better track what interests you so we can bring more of what you want to you. 😸 But it immediately went a little wrong... 😿 The software we're using is free, but, less than optimal... The process of keying in all of the baseline products has been... Frustrating... 😡

Hand-in-hand here, we have good news from Numakers in our latest filament order. They've produced new packaging for their filament that is a 360-degree improvement over what we'd seen from them before (and I'm an idiot for not getting you a photo of it!) 😅🥹

Last, almost all of our Sidecar orders went home today! 🤩🥳🤩
only 6 cases remain to be picked up!

I've worked so hard on the new POS-system this week that I think I'm forgetting something, but I can't remember it... 🥲 That's okay... If I don't remember, I'm sure it'll come to me about 7 minutes after I settle in to sleep... 😸 Moving on to...

🤩🥳😹😻NEW PRODUCTS😻😹🥳🤩

Like I said... I lost my mind a little bit... 😹 And it felt good to. We were also in a hurry after the new-system trials today, and I apologize that the photos aren't up to my usual standards. We -of course- topped up our stash of bolt and tower fidgets, and we added a pair of opossums back in after far too long. And after how the Toucans zipped out the door last Saturday, we've brought another pair of them 😹

From there... That's where we went off of the rails...

I dipped into a new critter and have brought you some Koi for this weekend 🎏 and keep an eye out because I'll be providing more color patterns as I get back in front of the clock... 😹

Next, I did a new take on sea turtle 🌊 just for my sister, S. S. I'd already had one made for her when she was coming up... But last week, I had a sweet young lady asking for sea turtles, so I let her have that one, and made these three just for my sis... These are unique, and I won't make ones like these again 😻

Earlier in the week, we shared our new moon with you 🌝 We'll be hanging it up -in a temporary spot- first thing in the morning. But I didn't stop with the lamps there... 😸

All of these are effectively prototypes, though some came out better than others... 😼 The ones we're least pleased with are the dragon head lamps... 🐲I'm going to have to put in some more time with these.

Next, also not how I'd hoped were the abstract cat lamps 🐈 In form, they came out well enough (and they're heavy enough to serve as self-defense weapons 😬) but they still came out okay.

Coming to the last in line, we're super-pleased how the Lion lamps came out 🦁 They create a soft & warm glow that we like to see from this sort of lit-from-within tabletop lamp.

All six of these are available for you tomorrow, and comes with two light-kit options. The first is a USB lamp that I designed, and it throws a lovely, warm glow. These will be the baseline for this new style of lamp.

We also have some remote-controlled multi-color option lamps that you may choose for an additional charge. 🎨

We are sorry that we weren't able to show them to you with lighting kits installed, but we simply ran out of time with our other challenges this week. 🙏

Coming back full circle to Luna, I'd love to be able to tell you that you could take it home this weekend, but I'm afraid that we have to give it some more time to test it and the new design for faults. 😸 Maybe as early as two or three weeks, we'll be able to send these home with you.

A forewarning for everyone, we will be late getting in tomorrow morning... Due to a lying printer 😬🤬🙀😾 a print job that was supposed to finish at 7:30am will not be done until at least 10am. We can't let this one slide because our friends at Kingsport Coin and Jewelry have been waiting patiently for this one for a long time...

Look for us at the Tri-Cities Flea Market at around 11...

The good news, however, is that all 31 cases of filament from our Sidecar orders are ready to be picked up! 😻🥳🤩 Be sure to remember that you have to call or text us before you arrive!
