This picture is an experiment.

I've been watching a lot of videos from the Tin House Studios YouTube channel by , and the ones I've been watching lately have been talking a lot about vision. How the vision of the photographer is the difference between an amateur and a professional, the difference between somebody being paid a little and paid a lot.

One recently really struck a nerve with me. It was a video about him changing his style during COVID, to match what was more personal to him.

Now for those of you hear who know me, I'm pursuing product and branding photography mostly because of the economics of it, whereas my real true passion is black and white fine art nature.

That work has very much, a vision to it, but it never struck me that that vision and that style could work in product or branding.

So that's where this post comes in.

This is a picture that I took at a photography conference recently. The picture itself has a lot of nice purples and pinks and blues. But I want to know what people think of this type of shot if I were to do it 100% my own way.

Obviously it's not the greatest product image in the world, but this is very true to me.
