The Race For an ABBI Derby World Title Heats Up!
The Derby competition is for three year old bulls that are making the transition from a 15lb bucking dummy to a live rider. At the age of three years old is the first year that a bull can compete in competition with a live rider. It is always an exciting process to watch and see successful futurity bulls make this transition as well as new bulls showing up that we didn’t see much of with a dummy.
In 2022 we have seen (87) different competing three year old bovines with more than $300,000 paid out in prize money. As we close in on the ABBI Derby World Finals, that number will continue to grow and the race for that gold buckle will continue to shape up.
