This last week has been our time to finish previous projects and create some seasonal artwork! 1st-3rd grade made some beautiful cardinals sitting on snowy "Y" branches after listening to a story about various animals and their winter habits - hibernating, burying themselves in mud, flying south for the winter or simply doing it the cardinal way by sticking it out!

These amazing students of mine continue to impress me!! πŸ₯°

Here are a few projects we have finished up during our second week of school. The Kindergarteners were inspired by Monet and his lily pad paintings. The 2nd graders were inspired by Thiebaud and his delicious looking desserts. So so incredibly grateful for amazing students who are eager to learn and love making art! 😁

Hello Everyone!
I am Ms. Franklin, the new elementary art teacher at Blue Earth Area. I am a first year teacher and am itching to working with my students and help them become creative thinkers. I created this page to post the happenings in the art room... and share more about myself!

Fun Facts About Ms. Franklin:
1. I am an avid plant and cat mother - don't worry, it is more plants than cats!
2. In my free time, you can find me doing archery (sometimes competitively), swimming laps, and, of course, being creative.
3. I graduated from Blue Earth Area in 2016 - GO BUCS!!
4. I graduated from Minnesota State University in 2020 - GO MAVS!!
5. I love spicy food - Mongolian Grill, Takis, Anything described as being flaming hot, Jalepenos on lots of food, etc.

I am super excited to meet all of my magnificent artists this fall and will post updates (hopefully) regularly! Stay tuned - I will post some art room pics soon!
