DNJFest ‘26: Moved by Culture

Join us for a vibrant, high-energy day of social dance, rhythm, and community connection! DNJ Fest brings together diverse styles rooted in tradition, culture, and joy. From the streets of Newark to the rhythms of Havana and Santo Domingo, this event celebrates the unifying power of movement. Back by popular demand, First Look Auditions will offer students and pre-professionals a chance to shine in front of top dance programs and companies from the NYC-Metro area. In 2025, students were awarded summer intensive and college scholarships ranging from $750 - $60,000!

Participants will choose two morning workshops:

🌟 BACHATA with Yoaldri Messina

🌟 CUBAN RUEDA with Flaco

🌟 JERSEY CLUB with Wizdom

🌟 FIRST-LOOK AUDITION with Kristine Covillo

The day will culminate with all participating in a SOUL LINE DANCE JAM with Najah Riker! 🌟

Attendees will receive their schedule for the day via email from DNJ within the week leading up to the event. DNJ professional and organization members receive discounted admission for this event! In an effort to eliminate barriers for participation at DNJFest, Dance New Jersey can offer need-based scholarships to students. Take a breather from holiday stress and participate in the Creative Flow Group on Sunday, Dec. 21. 10am-11:30 Writing Group, 11:30am-12pm Extended Share Readings, 12pm-2pm Art Club. This month's theme is Exquisite Co**se Writing & Art Exercise. Join in for a special winter solstice session of Creative Flow as we dive into the whimsical, collaborative world of the Exquisite Co**se. We’ll explore this playful surrealist exercise in both writing and art — building collective poems in the writing circle, then creating shared artwork together in Art Club (bring your own substrate to paint on - no bigger than 11"x14"). No experience needed. Just bring your curiosity, your imagination, and your willingness to be surprised by what we create together.
