Today in the high school theatre arts class, students began the tedious process of creating a director's flow chart for The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Students will be using The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe script to look at the many facets that come together to create magic on the stage and in film. The director's flow chart indicates when actors enter and exit the stage, when scene and costume changes occur, as well as, when musical numbers take place in a performance.

The 2027 Musical is… She Loves Me!

She Loves Me follows shop clerks Georg Nowack and Amalia Balash. They constantly bicker at work, completely unaware that they are secretly romantic pen pals who have fallen deeply for each other through anonymous "lonely hearts" letters.

She Loves Me was nominated for five Tony Awards in 1964. The 1993 Broadway revival won the Olivier Award for Best Musical Revival, the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revival of a Musical and the 1994 Critics Circle Award for Best Musical, while the 2016 Broadway Revival snagged the Tony Award for Best Scenic Design (beating Hamilton!). Considered by many to be the most charming musical ever written, She Loves Me is a warm romantic comedy with an endearing innocence and a touch of old-world elegance. The Mikos Lazlos play Parfuemerie, on which it is based, has inspired many adaptations, including the beloved film You've Got Mail starring Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks!

We are incredibly excited to get started on every aspect of the show. Between the costumes, set, choreography, and vocals, our gears are already turning and ready to get back on stage for the year!

Any guesses?

All 7th through 12th grade students that are interested in taking part in drama club this year are invited to the big reveal, after school today!
This is a drama tradition and not a mandatory event. Parents need to arrange pick up by 5:30 for any student who will be staying after school for the preview.

Meeting Broadway star, Bryce Pinkham while on vacation this summer, was pure kismet! Bryce Pinkham portrayed Jim Hardy in Holiday Inn on broadway, the same character that Jentezen brought to our CCCS stage this year! Such a great moment to meet him and share stories of his time performing Holiday Inn on "The Great White Way"!

HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!!

In honor of Independence day, enjoy the July 4th scene from this years production of HOLIDAY INN!
This scene took weeks to tackle, from dance, to vocals, costumes, and especially TIMING!
We do not have a pit orchestra, so once the music begins there is no stopping it! Once the play button was pushed for this scene, the actors and crew needed to know every bit of that music! Every line, actor's entrance and dance move needed to be on the mark for this almost 10 minute scene. Watch it with that in mind and listen for the music continuing to play underneath every action and line said on stage. Listening to it this way will give you an entirely new appreciation for the talent these kids have and what they accomplished on our tiny stage this year!

Congratulations to our 2026 drama club seniors graduating next week! You have each left a lasting impact on our stage and in our school and you will truly be missed. We can't wait to see how the Lord will use each of you to advance His kingdom!
