Camie Castaneda is a Federally Recognized Tribal Member of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi (NHBP) and a dedicated mother of two daughters Aanzhenii (17) and Asunciana (13). She actively serves her Tribe and the wider Native American community in Grand Rapids through leadership, advocacy, and cultural preservation. Camie currently holds the position of Culture Manager for NHBP, where she oversees operations, supervises staff, and fosters collaboration with Tribal members and external organizations.
Aanzhenii Dandridge is a dedicated student-athlete and an accomplished dancer. A senior at East Kentwood High School, she is 17 years old and a varsity basketball player who recently helped her team, the East Kentwood Falcons, earn the OK Red Division One district championship. A lifelong dancer, she began as a traditional dancer before transitioning to fancy dance and ultimately embracing the jingle dress dance, which she performs today. A proud member of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi, she actively participates in the Tribal Youth Program, honoring her heritage through both dance and leadership.
Asunciana Dandridge is a talented and versatile young artist with a passion for dance and performance. At just 13 years old, she has been dancing since she could walk, beginning as a jingle dress dancer before mastering fancy dance and Potawatomi scrub style. Today, she proudly dances all three styles, carrying forward her cultural traditions with grace and skill. Asunciana is a proud member of the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi and is actively involved in the Tribal Youth Program, where she celebrates and strengthens her cultural identity through dance and community engagement.
