Duane Busick Video

Duane Busick Video My background includes work in television and radio news, public affairs programming and childrens television.

A three time recipient of an Individual Artist Grant from the Indiana Arts Commission, Duane Busick provides creative, artistic and timely professional video services throughout Indiana. I have taught video production to children for over thirty years. I enjoy putting technology in their hands and watching their self esteem grow along with their creativity. I cover over 150 events each year as an

event videographer. I have personally done the videos for over 500 weddings and enjoy doing weddings now more than ever. Sports, arts and political videos are on my desktop year-round, but I find I am happiest working on projects that document some special element of my community or family. I feel I have a responsibility to tell these stories and hope to continue pursuing this passion for video storytelling the rest of my life.

This is the trailer for my documentary on Jasper Strassenfest. Strassenfest is the Jasper community’s annual celebration of its German heritage.

This week during Strassenfest Jasper Community Arts will be screening my documentary throughout the first three days of the festival. Showings in the Thyen-Clark Cultural Center Black Box Theatre begin at 11:30 on Thursday & Friday and at 10am on Saturday. 100 3rd Ave. Suite A Jasper, IN 47546

DVDs of the documentary are available for purchase for $25 at the Jasper Chamber of Commerce
302 W 6th St Jasper, IN 47546
I’m donating $10 to the support of Strassenfest for each DVD sold.

First held in 1979, Strassenfest has grown into a four-day community celebration that is one of Indiana's finest festivals.
This program documents the institutional history of Jasper Strassenfest and explores the reemergence of the area’s community pride in their German culture and ancestry after two generations of suppression after World War I. It’s the culmination of over five years of gathering oral history and capturing the sights and sounds of events and activities that reflect the rich cultural heritage of this part of southern Indiana.

Bloomington's Pop-Up Farmers' Market - Bloomingfoods and the Monroe County Growers Association had only two days to arrange and organize an alternative farmers' market after Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton announced a two-week suspension of the Bloomington Community Farmers' Market. One of the vendors at yesterday's Market called this, the Lemonade Market. When the world deals you lemons....
Thanks to Travis Puntarelli and Kevin Weinberg for providing me a wonderfully poignant sound track to work with for this video.

I continue to be amazed at what an incubator for creativity, experimentation, and developing talent that busking is for ones who dare to put themselves out there for the world to see.
I'm happy to announce that I now am an "Ambassador" for BUSK. http://www.busk.co Begun in 2010, "The Busking Project" resulted in a Kickstarter funded documentary film on the lives and motivations of street performers in 40 cities across 5 continents. Now transformed into "BUSK,"it is an advocacy movement that includes the world’s biggest community of buskers. BUSK aims to encourage governments worldwide to embrace this form of free public art in our public spaces. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLWJfYWP219gAmcZZJgEKpajqN-SZn9P2f
