After Tom’s death, Bob and Doris Fox worked vigorously to educate the public about HIV/AIDS through public speaking, media interviews, and meetings with elected officials. They memorialized their son through supporting alienated gay men and people with AIDS as well as advocating for LGBTQ civil rights. In 1992, they helped establish the Bloomington chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Le****ns and G**s (PFLAG) and served as leaders of the group for years.
