It’s been a while, but I’m back with a brand new commission!!

It’s been about 18 months since I posted my work on this page. In those 18 months I learned one of the most important lessons in my life: its ok to take a step back. It’s ok to take a break.

This is the beginning of a new commission for my upstairs neighbor! It feels so great to have a reason to return to to my favorite medium; line drawing!! And if anyone was curious… commissions are OPEN!!

Birthday week!!! 🦊🦔🐿
Everyone needs a break once in a while so I took the last two weeks off from posting my spreads. But what better way to return than with these adorable forest friends?! The last week of October is really our last week of true “fall” here in Indiana before all the leaves will be on the ground and winter will start to appear!! (Snowy Halloween this year??) So I try to take time to appreciate all the vibrant colors while they are still here!

Happy Monday!!
I’ve had several requests for a cat themed weekly spread and here it is!! I’m always searching for themes I haven’t done yet and it’s hard to believe I’ve never had a kitty theme 🖤 I had so much fun drawing these cute black cat silhouettes and bringing personality to each adorable member of the bunch! Also doing this spread has got me so excited for Halloween!! 🎃

I can’t believe it’s already October!! 🍎
A new month means a different thing for everyone. On one hand, it’s a fresh perspective or an exciting shift, but at the same time it marks another month in which we must endure the unique challenges of our world. Whether the start of a new month brings you joy or stress or both or something in between, I hope you can find moments of joy and beauty to fuel your soul during this time ♥️

Hello October!! 🍁
My favorite month has arrived!! Pumpkin spice lattes, apple cider, vibrantly colored leaves, and chilly temps are just some of my favorite things about October. It also helps that I’m an October baby so I celebrate my birthday during this beautiful month! What are some of your favorite things about October??

Happy Monday y’all!! 🍓
Although it’s a chilly rainy day here in Indiana, fresh berries always bring a little sunshine to my day! And as the weather gets colder, I love to enjoy a little bit of summer in delicious jellies and jams. Especially in these last few days of September! What are you looking forward to this week?

Happy first week of Fall!! 🍁
Even though this spread isn’t particularly fall themed, I am so excited about the shift in seasons 🍁 Here in Bloomington we are now seeing our first real chilly mornings and crisp afternoons. I love being able to do my journaling and design work outside on my porch so I can soak up all this amazing weather! Because before we know it, it will be winter!! Stay tuned for some of my favorite designs for my favorite month (OCTOBER 🎃)

Happy Monday y’all!! This last week was a bit rough (having to get an emergency dental surgery on Labor Day during a pandemic is not convenient 🙊) but I’m back!!
Something I am trying to work on this month is creating time and space for relaxation. And this spread combines two of the best relaxation techniques I rely on: Journaling and Tea!! ☕️ What are y’all looking forward to this week??

Happy September!! 🍃
It’s been a little while since I’ve done a true black and white spread!! If you’ve been a follower since the beginning you know that I used to primarily do black and white work (and if you haven’t, go check them out!). While I enjoy all the creative possibilities of using color, it’s nice to go back to my roots once in a while! 🖊
As you can probably tell from this spread, my September goal is to give myself a bit more structure to my life, especially focusing on things like meditation, sleep, and journaling! What are some things that y’all are looking forward to in September?? 🤍

The finished product!! 🍁
One of my favorite parts about creating my weekly spreads is the staging. After all the color and lettering is finished, it’s always a fun challenge to find just the right items to include in the picture to bring out the theme of the spread without distracting or overpowering. This week’s spread was especially delightful to stage!! Although fall hasn’t officially arrived here in Bloomington, we are starting to see the first glimpses of the leaves changing which meant that I got to go on a leaf collecting adventure for my props this week!! It’s so interesting to see which trees change first, and what colors show up first! What is your favorite part of fall??
