Chevalianders Wands and Staves

Chevalianders Wands and Staves Locally made wands and staves, hand-crafted in Indiana by Scott with the help of dryads. Have no fear.

Some wand makers will have you believe that the wand chooses the wizard. At Chevaliander’s we believe it should be the witch or wizard who chooses the wand. Our wands are handcrafted in Indiana using branches and deadwoods ranging from birch to sassafras. These finely crafted wizarding tools begin as vine-strangled tree branches that are tended to by the woodland fae to ensure maximum magical pote

ntial. After years of nurturing under the guidance of dryads, nymphs, ents, and any number of other forest spirits, our resident wand crafter harvests, ages, and then shapes each of the prepared blanks into their final forms. The creation of the wands varies with each piece; some retain more of their natural look and feel while others are stripped clean of bark and polished. *

Some of our wands may appear to be much older or even lovingly used. These special treasures are in fact refurbished wands from the ancient magical ages. Often these wands come into our care after being found within the estates of former wizards and witches. Others are found under more ominous circumstances; bottom of a smoking crater, floating within strange electromagical fields, fallen from the sky amongst a cloud of dragon scales, etc. All previously owned and restored artifacts undergo intense scrutiny and refurbishment and should be mostly free of all curses and other mystical entanglements of a non-benevolent nature. ** ***

Sassafras seems to be the favored wood of the strangle-vines, but our wands types also include birch, maple, oak, hackberry, sugarberry, sweet gum, and even the strangle-vines responsible for all of the other aforementioned types.

Wand crafter Scott Chevalier has had an interest in carving and shaping wood since he was a young boy. It has only been in recent years that he discovered and began shaping vine-twisted branches into wands and staves. Kristen Wilkins and he began Butterfly Stalactite Studios in 2015 and this is one of their first ventures available to the public. We truly hope you will find our offerings are interesting and unique as we do.

* Magic can be an inherently dangerous and the more powerful it is the more stressful it can be to your tools. As such, no guarantee or warranty is included with the purchase of these wands. Please practice using caution and treat your wand with great care.
** Seriously, magic can be quite raucous, and some enchantments are known to be quite cleverly obscurable. As such, no guarantees can be made regarding the innate magical nature of these reclaimed artifacts.
*** Much as running with scissors is ill advised, so to is it with wands. Young witches and wizards should always be supervised as wands are ultimately pointy sticks. Pointy sticks imbued with the raw, untamable energy of creation, but still mostly pointy sticks.
