Applications for Constellation's Open Stages program are now live!

Constellation is partnering with the Bloomington Arts Commission (BAC) to launch an Open Stages program to provide low-cost performance space for emerging artists. Artists who meet the BAC’s criteria for an emerging artist will be eligible to apply for discounted rental rates at the Waldron Arts Center and Ted Jones Playhouse!

The first round of applications are due by July 15. Learn more about how the BAC defines an “Emerging Artist” and how to apply at https://seeconstellation.org/get-involved/emerging-artists/

Our partners at Cardinal Stage open their FINAL show of the season this weekend! Don't miss the glorious rock musical, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, on stage June 9 - 26.

Hedwig is a Tony Award winner for Best Revival of a Musical (seen on Broadway in 2014 starring Neil Patrick Harris). Backed by her band, The Angry Inch, Hedwig recounts her moving journey to wholeness through funny stories and undeniable rock music.

Where Theatre is Born

The Bloomington Playwrights Project (BPP) is the only professional theatre in the entire state of Indiana dedicated solely to new plays. In operation for 35 years, we serve both the Bloomington and national theatre community by working with talented playwrights, actors, and artists to develop high-level productions for our local patrons as well as the many audiences attending subsequent productions of scripts that originated here at the BPP. We are an advocate for playwrights and new plays and believe firmly that they are not only important but absolutely vital to the future of our art form.
