Indiana Heritage Quilt Show

Indiana Heritage Quilt Show Annual quilt show featuring workshops, special exhibits, vendors and a competition quilt exhibition. March 5-7, 2026 www.ihqs.org

The Indiana Heritage Quilt Show (IHQS) is an annual show that takes place the first weekend in March in Bloomington, Indiana. The show features a wide range of workshops for beginners to experts with well-known instructors. There are a range of vendors at the show as well, fabrics and notions and numerous non-quilting merchandise as well. There are also special exhibits each year from around the c

ountry as well as unique exhibits at local museums. Of course the bulk of the show is made up of competitive quilt entries from around the county (and other countries as well!) Quilts of various categories are judged and awards are given to the top three entries in each category, plus best of show, exemplary quilting, and a variety of other prizes. Each year, around 200 quilts are entered, by quilters with a range of experience and expertise. It's a fantastic display of artistry and craftsmanship!

2027 QUILT CHALLENGE--Choose a Season
Don’t you love the beautiful colors of fall? How about those first tiny green buds and the crocus of spring. Or the crisp cold air of winter and coziness by a fireplace? And summer with all it’s fun activities and sunshine? In some places there are four distinct seasons of the year. Whether you live with four seasons or you don’t, you get to choose one to create your 2027 Challenge Quilt.
For the challenge we want to see one of the four seasons through your eyes. You may use any color, as many techniques as you like from pieced blocks to appliqué to landscapes and beyond. Go where your imagination takes you as long as you follow the basic quilt entry rules, plus your quilt is 30" x 30" and of original design. The next show is March 4-6, 2027. Bloomington, IN.
