Lark by the Lake Pottery

Lark by the Lake Pottery Lark works primarily with clay thrown on the wheel, forms based in a tradition of functional use. She often decorates her work with motifs from nature.

Lark loves the way that pottery can enhance daily life with its beauty. I love clay. I've been working with clay on and off for 40+ years. Since I retired two years ago, I spend the majority of my time in my studio. I work primarily with clay thrown on the wheel, forms based in a tradition of functional use. I embellish with images from nature or create texture with various objects. I'm constantly

scrutinizing and pushing myself to be more creative, looking for more avenues to expand this 3D realm.

I’ve been working long hours with the goal of firing my kiln on Monday or Tuesday. Stay tuned! Hopefully the kiln gods will be good to me and I’ll have some outstanding results to showcase next week.

These are a few of my herb st*****rs. I love mine, especially for stripping the leaves off the stems of cilantro. But also works great for rosemary and thyme. Do you think my sage imprints are okay or do they look too much like feathers? I may not use the sage for decorating in the future.

Just unloaded the kiln! 59 pieces! Whew!😅 I’ll be at ChalkFest at UWEC next Saturday, July 26.
