🚨 A WEDDING VENDOR PSA FOR EVERY COUPLE GETTING MARRIED 🚨
Please, please, PLEASE do your research before booking your wedding vendors.
This year alone, I have had multiple couples deal with vendors who scammed them, took their money and disappeared, or simply did not deliver what was promised — including photographers, bartenders, and caterers.
Now imagine finding out your photographer isn’t coming… ON YOUR WEDDING DAY.
Or your bartender ghosts you.
Or your caterer doesn’t show up with the food you already paid for.
Your wedding day isn’t the time to find out that a vendor looked great on Instagram but wasn’t actually reliable.
💍 There is a reason venues have preferred or recommended vendor lists.
We aren’t putting those names together randomly. We have the opportunity to see vendors actually work weddings — how they communicate, whether they show up, how they treat our couples, how they handle problems, and whether they do what they say they’re going to do.
That doesn’t mean you HAVE to use the vendors your venue recommends. You absolutely should choose the vendors who are the right fit for YOU.
But if you choose someone outside your venue’s list, DO YOUR RESEARCH.
✔️ Read recent reviews — not just Instagram comments
✔️ Ask your venue if they’ve worked with them before
✔️ Look for a legitimate business presence
✔️ Make sure you have a contract
✔️ Don’t send large amounts of money without understanding exactly what you’re paying for
✔️ Ask what happens if they cancel or don’t show
✔️ Check that they are properly licensed and insured when applicable
✔️ Search their name/business for complaints before booking
✔️ And most importantly… listen when your venue raises a red flag
We want you to have the wedding you’ve been dreaming about — and that includes making sure the people you’ve hired actually show up and do their job. ❤️
Your venue isn’t trying to control who you hire.
We’re trying to help you avoid the absolute nightmare scenario of standing there on your wedding day wondering, “Where is the vendor we paid?”
Do your research. Ask questions. Check references. And don’t be afraid to ask your venue for their recommendations.
Your future wedding-day self will thank you. 💍
