Goooood afternoooon all our friends, family and followers.. today has been an awesome day. We did have a couple of shuttles to take care of this morningish/afternoonish. One was a pick up at atlanta airport going to helen georgia and the other was dahlonega to woody gap. We sent j-dan on the atlanta to helen. It was two kids flying in to spend a week in helen. The riders did run into an issue with their luggage. The airline did not put the luggage on the correct airplane and so delay was going to set us back about an hour or so The mother called immediately when she found out about the issue and kept really good communication. The ride was a 12: pm pickup and so the flight with their luggage was going to touch down at 12:45 and probably take a half hour to get unloaded onto the conveyor belts and onto the luggage turnstiles and man the mother wanted to compensate us for our time and i told her we did not need to worry about taking anymore money. S*t happens and we are in no rush for another ride and so she did not need to pay us anymore. Now if it were going to be several hours and we needed to go back we would of course need to figure out a new game plan and we would charge accordingly. It woild all depend on the circumstances and what we had to do to make the ride happen.. again. So rhe riders were set by 1:30 ish and we were headed for helen, ga so they could get their vacation started... j-dan is actually driving them as we speak. Mary just rolled in after her dahlonega to woody and a stop at the posy office. She also stopped to grab some dinner items and fruits, etc. She is now creating a dinner for us to feast on tonight.. biscuit is sleeping and waiting to eat.. eat and sleep.. they ryhme. Hahaa.. i have been taking in calls and texts. It has been quiet for the most part. Alright... so this is j-dan after a long day of shuttles. Yesterday started slow for us. We had two rides scheduled when we started the morning off. Mary started her day with a small winfield-scot to gooch gap and j-dan started with meeting the hiker duo father and son team in bryson city and shuttled them to atlanta airport. While j-dan was shuttling the duo i received a call from a rider at amicalola lodge that had a flight departure at 6:20 pm that night and wanted a shuttle to atlanta airport. J-dan was 53 minutes from the airport and it was 11:30 am ish and so i figured we could hit the airport at 12:30 pm and j-dan drops the driver and spins it around and heads back to the lodge to meet the rider around 3 pm at the latest. Atlanta airport is about a 2 hour run aaand it was sunday so traffic is not usually that bad so there is alot of movement and not so much sitting around like during the week when the city is wide open. We are in the bible belt and so sundays it is quieter while people go to church and do the sunday dinner and rest it keeps the roads clean of traffic. I told the rider we could definitely have them there by 5 pmish and so the rider and I worked on getting her locked into our schedule and j-dan was sent the schedule and after he dropped his hiker duo he made his way to amicalola falls lodge to meet his second rider. He made it to amicalola at 2:20 ish and was early. The rider lost their keys and so this caused a few issues which put j-dan off schedule meaning he showed up at 2:20 ish, but even though he was early the rider had lost their keys and so j-dan had to wait for the rider to search for their keys that they did not find and loaded up and headed out without them, but once j-dan and the hiker/rider got about 15 minutes down the road the hotel called and told the rider they had found the keys so j-dan turned around and drove back to the lodge to grab the keys from the lady at the front desk and after j-dan, the hiker and their dog were enroute to atlanta airport. They were on time for their flight. So while all of this action is going on with j-dan mary and i were taking care of hikers up here in the mtns. We had the winfield-scot to cooper gap shuttle that required going the long way due to a tree that was blocking gaddistown road access road to cooper gap. Mary was able to use a persons driveway to bypass the tree the way in to cooper with the hikers, but she decided to take the long way around to get out so she did not over step out welcome and so the longway tavked at least a half hour to forty five minutes onto the drive. After she got back i received a call from hikers needing a ride from gooch gap to woody gap. It was several hikers who were not going to make it the additional 4 miles and some change to woody gap and so they sent us an sos for emergency extraction!! Hahaa.. they were really fun to work with. So mary got the gooch to woody all taken care of and came home so we could brew up a good dinner. J-dan made it home at 7 pm and we had one more run to hiawassee to scoop up a hiker and shuttle them to their car at unicoi gap. We met them at the ingles intown at 7:45 pm and got them back to their car. They were done with their day aaaand we were too. K. Thanks everyone for supporting the team. We appreciate you all!! Gooooood morning all our friends, fam and followers.. man, what a gorgeous day it is to be alive. Today mary is already enroute to lake winfield scot to meet a group that we will shuttle to cooper gap. So of you have ever used our services you have been asked during scheduling if you will need a car seat and many laugh or chuckle at this question because it does sound funny!! Haha.. why would someone need a car seat or booster seat for a child and let me say that a person would be surprised how many times we use the car seats that we have. Years ago we learned our lesson when we pulled up to a gap and a person or group was traveling with a young toddler or baby, etc. and so we want everyone to buckle down in our cars or you do not get a ride with us. We will not let people in the trunk space of the suv or allow people to hop on each others laps, etc. We have turned down a few mothers/fathers with babies because we were not prepared. So now we are prepared and show up at the gap armed with a baby seat. Today is one of those days so mary geared the shuttle up with the baby seat and headed out meet the hikers. After she will make her way back to the house. J-dan is heading to meet the riders that we have been assisting on their week long journey on the appalachian trail in bryson city to shuttle them back to the atlanta airport. That will take him around 6 to 7 hours to complete the entire ride. He has a long day. After he will make his way back to georgia.. today i will man the phones and make sure everyone has a smile on their face. Biscuit will sleep until he needs food.. hahaha. Goooood beautiful morning to all of our friends, family and followers.. man, it is another gorgeous day to be alive. Today the team is shuttleless meaning we do not have any scheduled rides. We will sit around and chill back and wait for a call to roll in. Mary has been on her morning stroll and j-dan rolled out of bed to roll into his throne in front of the b**b tube. We usually do youtube marathons of dui arrests and disovery channel and some ps5, of course.. haha.. maybe some calls will come through and maybe not. There are only a few drivers that run year round and we are one of them and so this time of year most are doing summer stuff and hiking, etc. We never stop and continue to run strong and so the calls that roll in will do the rounds and we will be the ones to usually capture the very few calls that come thru. Custies are always talking about burning through numbers and no one answering. I always tell them that we always answer aaand run year round on holidays and birthdays it does not matter.. snow, rain, the world is shutdown ohhhhhh. No worries!! we still shuttle and shuttled hikers back to florida when covid shut down everyone!! Hahaa.. we have not stopped since february 1st of 2017 when we found a little 1997 subaru with 120000 miles in atlanta georgia down in the seedy part of town. The seller was a crack dealer with a long leather trench coat and a ho**er and crack head minion.. no joke!! Haha.. i bought that little car for 1150. Dollars and the further shuttle was born. That is a story for another day. So that will be what the team does for today. We do have a few hikers on trail so they may need some assistance and so we will be here to capture the hikers if they need us.. k. I will stop babbling.. hehe. I hope you all have an awesome day. Goooood morning to all our friends, fam and followers.. today is another gorgeous day to be alive. I can feel it in the air. Lets be postive and spread good vibes. Smile and wave to neighbors and strangers cause strangers are friends that have not met, yet.. negative vibes are exausting and boring. K. So today we have a father and son duo that is at a hotel in franklin that we will meet and shuttle to rock gap to continue their journey north. After she will make her way back to georgia and we will sit and wait for calls to come in and get some other chores and errands done. I kind of like the slow time of year after the first of the year rush. The rush can really be exausting and so this month of down time really gets us prepared for the last of the season rush which will get us into the beginning of the new year and we will start taking in schedulings for the spring season again. It is nice to have the break, but also at the same time it is weird not to be running all day, everyday!! Hahaha.. it can be kind of weird to get used to at first. Alright and so j-dan will be heading to the gap to do his last day up there for the week and he will be waiting with us for rides to call in or i will have him doing some other stuff around the yard. He loves to work outside and make some extra loot so i put him to work on keep the yard clean and the house. Keep everyone busy!! Hahaha... and i like to keep the house clean and tight around the edges and i like the yard to look at least somewhat kept!! Hehe.. but yes j-dan like to hustle so we keep him busy. I like a man that hustles and wants to make cash and not afraid to put some sweat and back into it. It is hard to find workers like jordan. We surely appreciate him. K. Me, myself and i will be chilling at the b-stead making sure i capture all calls and texts aaaand emails coming thru. I will also continue building my gt7 cars. Im learning alot from reading online and watching lots of videos. I had a few cars that i could not figure out the right specs on the tune and man the car handled horribly and so i found a tune calculator online that helps me calculate the numbers and i have been able to make the car handle so much better. It is like night and day. Now... biscuit is going to be doing important stuff. Hey everyone!! Mary was at rock gap yesterday scooping up a couple of hikers going to franklin and so she took full advantage of the ride by getting us a peek at the water situation at rock gap shelter at mile 107 ish heading nobo on the appalachian trail. Rock gap shelter was replaced by a new shelter several years back and it is a beautiful shelter. It used to be a love shack type shelter!! Hahaha.. well, not quite love shack, but definitely ready to fall down. If memory serves me correctly i believe a tree fell on the shelter years ago and the roof took some damage and it was fixed, but the shelter was in need of a remodel or replaced which is what happened and the new shelter is gorgeous. Gooooood morning all out friends, fam and followers.. man, what an awesome day to be alive. Life is beautiful.. be kind and awesome to people. Spread positive vibes. Negative people are exausting and boring and not interesting at all. Lets get this day rocking. So today mary is going to be meeting a father and son duo that is doing a 7 day trek north. We picked them up a few days back in atlanta and shuttled them to indian graves where we dropped them off to strat their adventure north. We will meet them several times along their journey to get them into town to grab a zero day and some resupply and pick them back up to get them to the trail. Today we will meet them at rock gap and shuttle them to franklin north carolina. They will chill for a day and tomorrow morning we will meet them at their hotel and shuttle them back to the trail. A few days we will meet them at the noc and shuttle them to bryson city to catch a night of zzzzz's and get cleaned up for their trip back home. They do come from abroad and we have assisted them on other adventures. They return each year to break off a piece of the appalachian trail. They are super kind folks and a blast to work with. The communication is awesome and so we love good communication with the riders. It keeps everything running smooth. K. After mary drops the riders she will make her way back to georgia. So the ride to complete will take about 3 and a 1/2 hours to 4 hours and approximately 120 ish miles give or take a few miles. We will use about 6 gallons of gas. The ride itself will cost around 30 dollars to complete with taxes pulled from the payment and all the other little fees that come with it like transaction fees and bank fees and other wear and tear items like tires and engine parts and fluids, advertising, etc. We charge 60 for the ride. So the profit will be 30 bucks, roughly. The hourly break down is right around 7 dollars an hour. As i have said in the past the only way to make money is to have enough advertising and answer all calls and texts and be ontime and be professional, etc. And make a big enough name to have year round business so you can have multiple rides a day. There is no other way to survive out here. You have to be ontop of the game everyday or you will fail. This is my opinion from my experience out here for ten years. I like to think mary and I have a top notch system that works for everyone and not just one side and man it has taken years of mistakes and doing things right to create a service for hikers that works. K. So next j-dan is heading to mtn crossings to assist hikers on their journey north. He will be up there until tomorrow and friday to monday he is with us. Biscuit will hold down the chairs and probably do some window shopping.. hahha.. he is a hungry little critter. Hahhaa.. we love him. I, myself, will be chilling by the phone waiting for callers to call and if we have anyone calling to change a scheduling which happens alot i'm always here to answer and get the customers problem taken care of. I will also be working on tuning my cars on gt7.. i have been learning quite a bit about sim racing and how to tune the cars and hopefully i can take the leap and get a full sim rig set up. Hopefully by christmas i can have a sweeet set up. Im excited. Alright, everyone... thank you for supporting he team. Goooood morning... man, it is a gorgeous day.. the sky is on fire. K. So today mary is prepping for a rock gap to blue ridge gap shuttle. The rider was traveling over night and was supposed to meet mary at 6 am at rock gap, but throughout the night the rider called and was going to be later than she had planned and we told her not to worry and to stop and take a break if she needed one and we could adjust the time of pick up. He safety is more important than a meeting time. So we adjusted the time to 9 am and so mary is heading out in about an hour. We are approximately an hour and tenish minutes from rock gap, nc. Mary has a tesnatee to amica at 12 so we want to make sure we have enough time to get to rock to blue ridge to tesnatee all by 12 pm. J-dan is heading back to the gap to assist hikers on their journey. He works at the mtn crossings for three days out of the week and we work him for 4 days. He is a hard worker.. he knows how to make some loot. I will be manning the phones and making some magic happen. Biscuit will hold down the chairs by sleeping. Hehe.. k. Today jordan had a shuttle from atlanta to indian graves gap. While he made his way up the 3 and. 1/2 miles of dirt road to indian graves he passed multiple primitive camping area and another popular spot for both locals and out of town visitors/tourists. He noticed there was trash strewn all about. The camping areas had trash along the side of the road aaand the parking area has loose cans and other debris left behind by careless people. It is so important to follow leave no trace. This area has a bear problem and the problem is there because of the trash left behind. Bear remember places they have scored food and so they will return in hopes there may be more. If anyone does see someone breaking the leave no trace please try to educate them on what. Gooood beautiful morning.. alright, today j-dan is heading to atlanta to meet two riders that we will be shuttling to indian graves gap to begin their hike north. The hikers are a father and son team that we have assisted before. They come from abroad to break off a piece of the trail every year. This year they will begin at indian graves gap and end there hike near bryson city. We will meet them inbetween to bring them to franklin for a zero day and pick them back up and shuttle them back to the trail to continue north. A few days later we will meet them at the noc and shuttle them to bryson city to a hotel where they will hang out for the night and the next day we will pick them up and shuttle them to atlanta airport and they will fly home and we will see them next year. Mary will be relaxing today. We will take this sunday to relax and eat some good food. If we do have a shuttle call we will go, but we like to get a day to kind of breathe and reset our brains for the new week. I will be playing some racing gt7 and taking calls.
