Come out next Saturday to see our Studio Theatre class!

The Blacksburg High School Studio Theatre Class will present ANTIGONE on The Lyric stage on Saturday, May 16th at 11:00am. Tickets are pay-what-you-will and are only available at the door the day of the show. Doors open at 10:30am, so come downtown, enjoy the Farmers Market or breakfast at one of our fanastic restaurants, and then head over to The Lyric to support these awesome BHS students!

You will see Charlotte Munsell on the stage for this musical! She is playing Irene for “Crazy For You.”

Charlotte has been doing theatre since 3rd grade. Her favorite role so far was Voldy in “Puffs.”

After graduating, she plans on to hustle and make money moves.

You will see Alexa Rascher on the stage for this musical! She is playing Mother and Follie Girl for “Crazy For You.”

Alexa has been doing theater on and off since third grade but consistently since freshman year. Her favorite role so far was Dory in Finding Nemo Jr the musical because she says thought it was so fun and silly performing for the elementary schoolers.

After graduating, she plans on attending East Carolina University where she will be earning a BSN in nursing.

You will see Carson Paar in the orchestra for this musical! He is playing the Bari Sax for “Crazy For You.”

This is Carson’s first year in pit. His favorite memory is watching “Addams Family.”

After graduating, he plans on attending Virginia Tech to study Computer Engineering.

You will see MeKinsley Sink on the stage for this musical! She is Susie/Follie Girl for “Crazy For You.”

MeKinsley has been doing dance since she was 3, and competing since 7. She’s been in the pit orchestra for the past 3 years, but this is her first time on stage. Her favorite memory is getting to see the stage side of things and learning a lot from my fellow follies.

After graduating, she plans on attending Clemson to study Agribusiness and political science.

After graduating, she plans on attending UVA and majoring in Biology.

Ryn has been doing theatre since freshman year. Their favorite role was Black Stache in “Peter and the Starcatcher.”

After graduating, they plan on going to VCU arts for art history and cinema.

About The Show:
“Crazy For You” tells the story of young New York banker Bobby Child, who is sent to Deadrock, Nevada, to foreclose on a rundown theatre. In Deadrock, Bobby falls for spunky Polly Baker, the theatre owner’s daughter. But Polly takes an instant dislike to the city slicker, so Bobby vows – through cunning, razzmatazz, and a hilarious case of mistaken identity – to win Polly’s heart and save the theatre.
