OUR PROGRAM
If you enter a typical childrenā€™s dance class you might see Ballet Barres, tight buns, and teachers wagging their fingers for students to straighten their knees. For many young dancers the wonderful fantasy of starting dance is quickly replaced by discipline and uncomfortable positions. While dance can be quite hard work and requires much dedication and y

es-discipline, Little Leapers offers a different and unique approach to childrenā€™s dance classes. We are a curriculum based childrenā€™s dance program offered throughout the United States. Our program will enrich the lives of every student with the use of movement and literacy to help them develop as not only as a dancer, but a student. Our curriculum fosterā€™s every childā€™s imagination and love for dance through movement, play, costumes and props. In a Little Leapers class, students learn fun stretches in a playful way. They learn all of their proper dance terms while fantasizing, creating, or acting out scenarios. They also learn how dance is a way to communicate without using words. Each week the students sit as the teacher reads a classic tale. They then get dressed up in lovely costumes and follow the teacher as they reenact the story to beautiful and theatrical music. Using their newly learned dance moves, and fun props children are quickly whisked away to a world of magic and play all while learning.

We are so excited to announce a new class at Little Leapers:

Hip Hop & Tumbling
Ages 4.5-7.
Thursdays 5:45 starting NOW!
Taught by Miss Aralyn
Tuition: $70/month

This class is the perfect combination of high-energy hip hop movement and beginner-friendly tumbling skills. Dancers will build rhythm, coordination, strength, flexibility, and confidence ā€” all while having so much fun!

Miss Aralyn will lead students through upbeat choreography, age-appropriate hip hop skills, creative movement, and tumbling basics in a positive and encouraging class environment.

This is a great fit for dancers who love to move, jump, groove, and try something new!

In this class, dancers will work on:

We are so excited for our next summer camp at our Blacksburg studio: Musical Theater Camp!

This camp is perfect for dancers and performers who love to sing, dance, act, and bring a story to life on stage. Campers will spend the week learning fun choreography, building confidence, exploring acting and expression, and working together on musical theater-inspired performance pieces.

Whether your child is already comfortable performing or is just beginning to find their voice, this camp is a wonderful opportunity to grow in a supportive and creative studio environment.

Bubble play may look simple, but it is such a valuable activity for toddlers!

When young children chase, pop, reach for, and track bubbles with their eyes, they are building important developmental skills through play. Bubble play helps toddlers practice hand-eye coordination, visual tracking, spatial awareness, balance, and gross motor movement as they run, jump, stretch, and reach.

It also supports language development. Bubbles naturally encourage little ones to use words like ā€œpop,ā€ ā€œmore,ā€ ā€œup,ā€ ā€œdown,ā€ ā€œbig,ā€ and ā€œsmall.ā€ For toddlers who are still developing verbal skills, bubbles are a wonderful way to encourage communication, turn-taking, and social interaction in a fun and low-pressure way.

In dance and movement classes, bubble play is especially helpful because it inspires children to move with joy and imagination. Dancers can practice reaching high, moving low, traveling through space, waiting their turn, and following directions, all while feeling like they are simply playing.

Most importantly, bubbles create moments of wonder. They help toddlers feel excited, engaged, and confident in the classroom, which is exactly what we want at this age. Through playful activities like bubbles, young children begin to associate movement, music, and class time with happiness, connection, and discovery.
