Contemporary Dance Ensemble

Contemporary Dance Ensemble Instagram: The Contemporary Dance Ensemble has been Virginia Tech's institution of artistic expression, innovation and collaboration since 1990.

We pride ourselves in our diverse technique including contemporary, hip-hop, lyrical, jazz, ballet, tap and pointe. Our passion for pushing boundaries and challenging ourselves through these varieties and combinations of dance is what makes CDE truly unique. CDE has two major performances a year at the end of each semester. We also participate and perform in university and community events through

out the year! In addition, we hold weekly classes open to the public. Auditions are held at the beginning of each semester. Feel free to contact us with any questions!

“Hi my name is Olivia Sabatelli and I’m graduating with my Bachelors of Science in Biology and a minor in psychology. After graduation I will continue to work as a PCT while applying to PA school! Joining CDE my freshman year was one of the best decisions I made at Tech. I have made lifelong friendships and was able to continue doing what I love! CDE is such a talented and hard working group of people and it will forever hold a special place in my heart. I will miss you CDE

CDE SENIOR SPOTLIGHT!! Although she isn’t graduating, we wanted to recognize Claire Brown for her last semester with CDE🩵

“My name is Claire, and I’m a third-year architecture major who will be taking next year to study in Switzerland and Chicago. I’m beyond grateful for the opportunity to travel, and I’m so excited for all of the adventures ahead. That being said, I wouldn’t be the person I am today without dance, and I want to thank CDE for being such an integral part of my life. I’m incredibly grateful for the friendships, memories, and opportunities this team has given me. I will miss the late nights, the rehearsals, the laughter, and the sense of community that makes this group so special. CDE has truly been a home for me, and I can’t wait to come back and watch future shows and cheer you all on. Thank you for everything. ❤️”

“My name is Ibby Burnett and I will be graduating with a degree in Marketing Management. After graduation, I will be working full-time with a digital marketing agency. It is impossible to put into words just how much CDE has meant to me during my time at Virginia Tech. This is the absolute best group of girls and I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to be a part of it. Thank you CDE for being the best part of my college experience and for allowing me to continue my passion for dance. I will cherish these memories for the rest of my life.♥️“

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT!! The next senior we would like to recognize is Delaney Krogh🩵

“My name is Delaney Krogh and I will be graduating this spring with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Systems Engineering and a minor in Green Engineering. Following graduation, I will be joining KCF Technologies as a Technical Analyst on their Operations team, where I am excited to start the next chapter of my career. It is extremely hard to put into words how much CDE has given me during these 4 years at Virginia Tech. There is nothing like this group of girls or the support, encouragement, and community it provides. I feel so lucky to have gotten to be a part of it. Thank you to CDE for being my favorite part of my Virginia Tech experience. I will miss it the most.❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹“
