Whistle Pig Wood Shop Custom made wood projects, from cutting boards to wall art I'm a software developer in Blacksburg, VA who likes to make wood art in his spare time.

Most of my stuff is made with a CNC machine- I send digital art into a computer-controlled router. Even though part of my process is machine made, most of it is spent designing, cleaning up, and assembling the pieces by hand. Most of my projects are made out of a combination of domestic and exotic wood. I prefer to avoid stain and instead let the natural figure and colors of the wood to shine thro

Since I've got a lot of work in progress, here's some of the stages of making a 🦀big pinchy boy🦞 side by side.

First, I CNC the shapes from some carefully selected pieces of wood. Then I assemble them with the big magnets, pegs, and glue. Next up I rough sand them, removing most of the glue and rough edges.
