Discover the meditative practice behind the art. 🌿🪵✨

Artist Rude Graves will present live woodworking demonstrations inspired by the methods of Jiro Okura. Exploring carving, drawing, and gold leaf application, Graves will share the repetitive processes and focused attention that inform Okura’s work, offering a closer look at the techniques behind Mountain Lake Screen Tachi.

For one night, the sounds of Southwest Virginia come alive on our stage.

The Crooked Road connects hundreds of musicians, venues, and communities across our region. On July 10, that tradition comes to the Center for the Arts with an evening of old-time music, bluegrass, dance, and storytelling featuring the Blue Ridge Girls, New Ballard's Branch Bogtrotters, Lonesome River Band, the Boys from Bristol, and students Margo MacSweeney and Hollace Oakes.

Join us on July 10 at 7:30 PM for this special celebration of Appalachian music and culture.
