What message are we sending kids with these lemonade stands?

Why are we doing it? What are we trying to get them to understand?

In a word, Hope.

You can do it. You can get off your butt and make things happen.

I don't think anyone disagrees with that message for kids, and I think that's why the lemonade stands are so well received. We all love seeing kids give effort.

But believe it or not, that's A VERY difficult message to send.

If my message was:

"Your kids have NO hope under the current system/administration/circumstance! We NEED to change x, y, z about what is going on, and we NEED to change it YESTERDAY"

This video would get a million views. I could raise a hundred grand. It's such an easy message to sell because we can all relate to that position.

So this election season, remember the old maxim :

"Children seldom listen, but never fail to copy."

There are little eyes and ears always watching you!
