As we wind down 2022 we are looking ahead to several great opportunities for YOU to be a part of the arts at BMCA in 2023.
Perhaps you’d like to audition for a play?
Ovation Theater Collective is holding auditions for 'Let Me Down Easy' by Anna Deveare Smith, a Verbatim Theatre piece, to be performed at BMCA in May. Auditions will be held on Sunday, January 8th from 1-5pm at Attic Salt Theatre Co. Ovation is Seeking a racially diverse cast with range and ability between the ages of mid 20’s to 60’s to perform 3-4 different character monologues each. We are seeking proposals for shows to be presented in our theatre during our 2023-2024 season. We welcome proposals of both original and established works in an effort to provide our community with quality, live theatrical performances.
YOU can be a part of our community art show!
We invite everyone to participate in Beyond the Binding. Whether you are a seasoned artist or an occasional doodler, you can give an old book new life by using it to create art. Your masterpiece must include pages from a book or parts of a book. Other than that there are no rules! Funds raised from the Beyond the Binding show will be shared to support BMCA and the Black Mountain Library.
Calling all artists over 65!
We are so excited about Golden Renaissance: A Showcase of Creative Seniors. This juried show will be an opportunity for senior artists in our region to show the world their talents. The Golden Renaissance exhibit will be on display in the Upper Gallery at the Black Mountain Center for the Arts from March 31st - April 21st, 2023. Interested artists may submit original artwork for consideration. Submissions to be considered for the show are due January 31, 2023.
