Maple Valley School of Ballet was founded in 1982 by Barbara Lycett and Claudette Krauss. Together they developed and implemented a comprehensive classical ballet curriculum. Lycett taught classes, choreographed, and co-directed MVSB until 1991. Krause was continually dedicated to enriching children's lives and served as teacher, choreographer, producer, and Artistic Director of the school until h

er retirement in 2005. Today, under the direction of Jessica Hamblen-Klepper, MVSB continues to offer a comprehensive modern dance and ballet training program based on standards of excellence in dance education and artistic performance established by the founders. Each class level presents specific technical criteria, while instruction is individualized to meet the needs of each dancer. Individual growth and artistic expression are encouraged throughout the program. MVSB annually presents professional-quality, original performances.
