Peery Glass Creations collaborates with artists through our Patterns for Purpose initiative, a program that features artist-created digital patterns, shares their work with new audiences, and helps support charitable efforts through purpose-driven creativity. 🎃 The Patchwork Pumpkin is finished!

After sharing the glass selection, cutting, grinding, copper foil and patina, I’m so excited to finally share the finished piece!

I love how this pumpkin came together! 🧡 My favorite part is the warm orange glass. When the light hits it, it almost looks like there’s a candle glowing inside the pumpkin—but it’s really just the color and texture of the glass creating that warm ambiance.

This pumpkin will be heading to the NOW Program in Robinson, Illinois, where it will be given away as a prize to one of the participants in 5K Your Way on October 3rd! 🏃‍♀️

🎃 The Patchwork Pumpkin is coming together!

If you caught my last post, you know this pumpkin is being created for the NOW Program in Robinson, Illinois and will be given away as a prize to one of the participants in their 5K Your Way on October 3rd! 🧡

Once all the glass has been cut and ground, each piece is carefully wrapped in copper foil and soldered together. This is known as the Tiffany method, the technique I use to create my stained glass pieces.

Then comes my favorite part—patina! 🖤 Watching those bright silver solder lines turn black completely transforms the piece. The darker lines create contrast and allow the glass to become the focal point, making the colors and textures really pop!

🎃 Something special is taking shape in the studio!

I’m working on this Patchwork Pumpkin for the NOW Program in Robinson, Illinois, and the finished piece will be given away as a prize to one of the participants in their 5K Your Way event! 🧡

Every stained glass piece starts with one of my favorite decisions: choosing the glass. For this pumpkin, I chose a mix of warm oranges, golden yellows, and earthy greens to give each section its own character while still bringing the entire design together.

Once the glass is selected, it’s time to cut each individual piece by hand and then head to the grinder. Grinding helps smooth the edges and get all those little pieces fitting together just right!
