Celebrate the beginning of fall with a fun evening of painting and creativity! Join me at The Hoover Randle Home & Gardens on Tuesday, September 22 at 6:00 PM to create your own textured pumpkin painting on a wood block.

We’ll use layers of paint, texture and loose brushwork to create a beautiful, one-of-a-kind pumpkin that’s perfect for your fall décor. Choose a classic orange pumpkin, a soft neutral or make it completely your own with colors that complement your home.

No painting experience is necessary! I’ll guide you through the process step-by-step while still giving you plenty of freedom to add your own creative touches.

Each of my custom mahjong lamps is designed and hand-painted one at a time with lots of thought, planning and care to make it feel truly personal to its owner. Your mat, your colors, your favorite motifs, your style—I use those details as inspiration to create a lamp that is uniquely yours.

A little pricing update: Custom mahjong lamps are currently $65 + shipping through August 31. Beginning September 1, the price will be $80 + shipping. This adjustment reflects both increased supply costs and the time that goes into designing and hand-painting each one.

Have you ever said “yes” to something you’ve never really done before? 🎨

This graduation banner for my daughter was only the second banner I’ve ever painted… and I had so much fun bringing it to life.

In this video, I’m taking you behind the scenes—from the setup and supplies I used to some of the tips and tricks I learned along the way. If you’ve ever thought about painting a banner for a graduation, birthday, or special event, I hope this gives you the confidence to give it a try.

Sometimes the best way to grow as an artist is to step outside your comfort zone and paint something you’ve never painted before.

There are some gifts you simply can’t buy. ❤️

When my daughter earned her Master’s in Social Work from the University of Alabama, I wanted to create something that would always remind her of this incredible milestone.

I knew I wanted to paint Denny Chimes… but here’s the truth: I didn’t get it right the first time.

As an acrylic artist, watercolor and gouache are well outside my comfort zone. So I practiced. And practiced again. Only when I finally felt like I had captured it the way I envisioned did I paint the final piece.

The plan is to have this painting professionally framed alongside her diploma—a keepsake that will celebrate not just what she accomplished, but the journey it took to get there.

In this video you’ll also see a few other special touches from graduation weekend: the hand-painted champagne bottle, her graduation card, and the guest book we filled with words of wisdom and encouragement from the people who love her most.

Sometimes the most meaningful gifts aren’t perfect from the start—they’re the ones we care enough to keep working on.

Congratulations again, Makenzie. I couldn’t be prouder of the woman you’ve become. ❤️🐘❤️

Help me pick a dress for my art show!

Tomorrow is my art show at the Grand Bohemian Gallery right here in Birmingham. And of course I am still trying to decide what to wear! I popped into Belk at the Summit this afternoon thinking I would grab a cute sundress or something. But they had a huge sale and of course, there were too many to choose from. I wish my mama had been shopping with me because she always knows what looks best. So I decided to make a video to send her and then I thought maybe you guys could help me as well!
