Our friend is back for two more one day deep dives! Oct 3, join David in kickstarting your sketchbook practice, changing your perspective by focusing on the world around you. This session will focus on strategies to help you draw from life-Where do I start!? How do I start!? What do I draw!?-with some ideas and thinking about how sketchbooking helps see the world differently and keep you grounded.

Or join David for Bookmaking Basics Oct 17. This afternoon workshop will introduces the basic materials of bookmaking. Over the course of the afternoon we will sew 3-4 pamphlet syle soft back books learning about different types of decorative single signature sewing styles.

David West has over 20 years of art teaching experience. With an MFA in printmaking and a specialization in sketching, he has been honing his craft in bookmaking for over a decade.

Join MAKEbhm for our next Maker Series talk with glass artist, Sharon Whelton. Having always admired the beauty of glass, Sharon took her first stained glass class in March of 2019 and fell in love with the process instantly. Glass art is at the perfect intersection of color, light, and shape. Her work aims to inspire a sense of joy and nostalgia, always reflecting her vibrant palette. This body of work focuses on mid century design - from roadside signs to vintage cars - and showcases all of the many techniques she uses to manipulate glass as an artistic medium. We'll be celebrating the opening of her show & presenting an artist Q&A that dives into her process, her path, and what keeps her making.

New on the calendar! Join @ for Felted Flowers! Nancy will teach you the basics of felting while creating a simple flower using loose wool, barbed needles and a lot of little stabs & then you'll be let loose to build upon that design and anything else you could want to sculpt out of fibers.

Just a couple spots left in September ceramics classes at MAKEbhm! Hop in .jenkies's hand building with slabs Thursdays, Sep 3 - 17 at 6:00pm or throwing on the wheel, Tuesdays, Sep 8 - 29, 4-6pm

what's the difference? hand building with slabs uses flat slabs of clay to construct your piece (like our friends, the ghosties, but also can be used for cups, vases, and plates) & throwing uses the pottery wheel with a focus on making cylindrical shapes like the small cups and bowls on the shelf below.
